Cowrie is a large single level holiday home located next to Baby Bay beach in New Polzeath. It has an attractive specious garden, as well as wonderful views of the sea and the National Trust coastline towards Pentire Point. Thanks to its beachside location and easy access it is particularly suitable for large family groups of all ages.

Well known for its surf school, Polzeath also offers a variety of water sports, a number of shops, cafés and restaurants with nice sea views, and golf courses nearby. The quieter Baby Bay beach is ideal for uncrowded morning and afternoon surfing, rock pooling, sand castles etc. There are magnificent coastal walks to Pentire Point and the Rumps, and to Rock.

The house has been recently renovated and sleeps nine to ten people in four good-sized bedrooms. All bedrooms have wash basins with shaver points and three of them have a sea view. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a new elegant en-suite bathroom with a shower over the tub. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, Bedroom 3 has twin/super king size beds and the ‘Junior’ Bedroom 4 has bunk beds, a single bed and a Z-bed. The Junior room also has as a flat screen TV and a number of toys in a drawer under the bed. There is a separate Games Room with a full-size table tennis table, magnetic darts, children’s books, toys etc., providing extra indoor activity space for the wet weather days.

There are two new family shower rooms (one with a toilet). Both shower rooms and the en-suite bathroom have heated towel rails and heated floors. There is a heated outdoor shower - great for rinsing off sand and salt from the beach, and an outdoor drying space for beach towels, wet suits etc. There is a laundry room with a washing machine, ironing facilities, sink and toilet. The heated drying cupboard, ideal for drying swimming costumes and other small items, is located in the corridor.

The modern Kitchen/Dining Room is very well equipped with a halogen hob, combi oven, combi microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area has access through the French doors to the sheltered patio with rattan furniture - perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee in the morning sun or socialising before or after meals.

The Sitting Room has a comfortable and versatile corner sofa, flat screen TV, DVD player, a cupboard with a variety of card and board games, puzzles etc., and a baize card table. It joins through double doors to the bright and comfortable Sun Room – the most outstanding feature of the house, with large panoramic windows, magnificent sea and coastal views and direct access to the garden. It has ample sitting options and an extra table for five, which can be used for meals or games. Both rooms have plentiful seating and can be used together or separately providing a flexible socialising space, particularly useful for mixed age groups.

Cowrie has a large attractive garden around the house with wonderful sea and coastal views, lawn, shrubs, bulbs, primroses and magnificent display of red hot pokers in August – September. It is well equipped with comfortable garden furniture and a portable barbeque. The grassy cliff garden extending towards the beach has direct access to the coastal path.

There is parking in the parking bay at the rear for one large or two smaller cars. The house is normally accessed from the parking bay down six steps to the patio and back door. For people with limited mobility there is an alternative entrance at the front, where only one step up from the road brings you to the garden level with easier access to both the front and back doors.

Other facilities include thermostatically controlled modern electric heating, double glazed windows, Wi-Fi and a landline phone.

Kitchen starter pack, bed linen and towels (apart from beach towels) are provided. Utility bills, apart from the cost of telephone calls, are included in the price.
