Cottages in or near a National Park National Park
An early C19th former hunting lodge in the beautiful Dent valley in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Deeside House offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to 31.

Set in Dentdale's spectacular countryside, the house has its own extensive lawned grounds that border the River Dee. A small stream flows through the garden. The views are simply wonderful! The house is the perfect location for exploring the splendour of the Dales or for a day trip to the Lakes.

The house is fully equipped for large parties of all ages. The 50" HD plasma screen and cinema sound system in the lounge will be a popular choice. There is also a HiFi and satellite TV with the latest HD channels in the games room. You will find a great choice of DVDs available too.

The lounge has a log fire - bring out the jigsaws and board games from the games room for a traditional night in! Down the hall, the games room has a darts board, table tennis, table football and a pool table.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a romantic four poster bed and, with a charming nod to its 19th century heyday, an ensuite Victorian bathroom complete with roll-top bath. The ‘Brown Room’ invokes the Edwardian era with its carved double bed and period furniture.

There are 7 ensuite bedrooms in total, including 2 large family rooms, with a king sized double bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. Another two rooms have a double and three single bunks - one of which is on the ground floor, next to the shower room with facilities for people with disabilities.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, Rangemaster gas cooker, 2 fridges, freezer pantry and utility room. There is also a large dining room.

Outside there is a seating area for alfresco dining and a gas barbecue.

The Sportsman’s Inn is less than a mile away and is a pleasant walk along the river. Dentdale has its own microbrewery so the local ale is fantastic! Don’t miss the annual Dentdale Music & Beer Festival on the last weekend in June and the Dentdale Show on the August Bank Holiday.

The charming village of Dent with its cobbled streets, pubs, cafes and galleries is only 6 miles away. It even has its own Meditation Centre and an excellent Heritage Centre. The charming market towns of Hawes and Kirkby Lonsdale are a short drive away.

Opportunities for outdoor pursuits abound, Horse riding, fishing and golf are all locally available. The walks are fantastic and Dentdale plays host to both the Yorkshire Dales and Pennine Cycleways.

The scenery is wonderful. White Scar Caves and the magnificent Hardraw waterfall are within easy reach. A trip to the Lake District is always a must.

Railway fans will be well catered for as two of the country's most scenic railway lines - the Settle-Carlisle and Wensleydale railways run nearby.
