Set within a beautiful 160 acre estate in North Devon is the 17th century Grade 1 listed The Devon Manor House.
This stunning house, which also has its own outdoor swimming pool and tennis court comfortably accommodates up to 16 in eight bedrooms, four of which are en-suite.
The Devon Manor house has everything guests could ask for in a luxury self catering property. Combining period charm, history and grand design with contemporary mod cons it is the perfect destination for a weekend away with friends or a large family holiday surrounded by the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Downstairs at The Devon Manor House there is a choice of living rooms to suit all ages and occasions. The adult lounge provides a space away from the children who can watch the Smart TV in the family room, alternatively there is the spacious main sitting room where everyone can gather and enjoy each others company whilst admiring some of the wonderful period features, including wood floors and intricate plaster work.
Also located on the ground floor is the dining room and two separate kitchens, both of which are equipped to a very high standard. From the dining room there is direct access onto the central courtyard where alfresco meals can be enjoyed on warm evenings.
The eight bedrooms at The Devon Manor House are situated over two floors. The first four bedrooms, all of which are en-suite are accessed via the old staircase, these include The Long Bedroom with two antique double beds and an en-suite shower room, The Blue Bedroom with king-size bed and an en-suite with both shower and roll top bath, The Pine Suite with king size bed an en-suite with roll top bath, and finally the last bedroom, which also has a king size bed an en-suite shower room.
The last two bedrooms on the first floor located via the wonderful Venetian staircase are The Old School Room, where Francis Chichester is thought to have been taught and The Rose Suite. Both these bedrooms share a beautiful family bathroom, which is fitted with a roll top bath and separate shower. The Old School Room has zip and link beds that can be made up as either a double or two singles depending on guest requirements. The Rose Suite has a gorgeous king size bed.
Finally there are two further bedrooms located on the second floor of The Devon Manor House and are reached via the back staircase. These two bedrooms are enormous and both have zip and link beds giving guests plenty of flexibility. Also located on this floor is a family bathroom with bath, a cosy lounge/dining area and a small kitchenette.
Outside The Devon Manor House has a large garden perfect for families. There is also the outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court, as well as two walled gardens and an ornamental lake.
The Devon Manor House is ideally located for exploring the local area. Within a 15 minute drive of the property are the beautiful golden beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton, as well as many pretty seaside villages and towns. Exmoor National Park and a number of attractions such as Arlington Court, The Big Sheep and RHS Rosemoor are also nearby.
For a night out there are a few very good pubs within easy reach including The Pyne Arms at East Down, alternatively there are award winning restaurants to discover at Broomhill Sculpture Gardens and Kentisbury Grange.
Prices range from £3,500.00 for seven nights in October to £5,775.00 in the peak summer holidays.
