Rhowniar Country House is a Grade II listed property near Aberdovey in The Snowdonia National Park, North Wales set in its own lovely elevated grounds with views across the Cardigan Bay Coast and the sea. The house which was built in 1910, has recently been renovated and had its timber paneling and exposed flooring restored.
The house can sleep up to 14 people in three double en suite bedrooms, two double bedrooms, two twin rooms and two bathrooms.
Main Rooms - There are sitting rooms, a study, a dining room, kitchen, snooker room, garden room and spacious halls and landings. Children particularly enjoy the purpose built snooker room accessed from the upstairs landing across the hallway above the arched courtyard entrance. This is a safe place for children to play and can be used to give the grown ups a bit of a break too!
Kitchen - The kitchen is fitted with a modern electric range, dishwasher and washing machine.
Bedrooms - There are three double en suite bedrooms, two double bedrooms, two twin rooms and two bathrooms.
Set in 12 acres of wooded grounds with terraced lawned gardens to the front. Rhownair is approached by a private drive and is away from the main road. There are terraced lawns to the front of the house and plenty of room for an evening stroll or for children to play. All around are fantastic sea and countryside views that stretch for miles.
Also located in the grounds is a large drying room for wet suits, sailing equipment, beach toys etc. There is also plenty of space for cars, trailers and other water sports equipment. All our guests are encouraged to enjoy the woodlands and garden areas but dogs need to be kept under control.
Nearby Attractions and Activities
There is plenty to see and do in Aberdovey in Snowdonia. There are sandy beaches nearby at Aberdovey and Tywyn as well as the beautiful Dovey Valley, the Dysyni Valley with broad water and Bird Rock.
Also nearby is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway - The Talyllyn Railway which passes through the Dolgoch Falls and there are some wonderful forest walks at Nant Gwernol. The Corris Railway and Fairbourne Minature Railway are also nearby.
There are three golf courses in the vicinity - Aberdovey Golf Club, Machynlleth Golf Club, Dolgellau Golf Club.
There are many great places to fish in the area including Cregennan Lake and Tal-y-llyn Brown Trout Lake,
Other attractions include the Centre for Alternative Technology , Corris Craft Center and King Arthur's Labyrinth.
