Located down a long farm drive near Lavenham in rural South Suffolk. Accessible from London (train to Sudbury 10 minutes away), north and west (train to Bury St Edmunds) and Stansted airport an hour's taxi journey.
This well-equipped bunkhouse sleeps 20 in four bedrooms (2 x 2, 2 x 8) for groups on a modest budget who want to cook, dine and sit together. (Occasionally we let our completely separate Tudor barn that sleeps 22+ (and can dine 50+) as well to accommodate a combined total of 42+ - ask for details.)
At ground level there are three bunk bedrooms (2 x 2, 1 x 8), three showers and loos, including a wet room for less mobile guests.
Upstairs there is cosy sitting room and a large sunny bedroom (1 x 8) with conventional beds, with loo and shower next door. Sturdy bunk beds are joiner-made with thick comfortable mattresses. Feast your eyes on colour and patterns: Mexican and Spanish tiles, Indian bedspreads and stained glass.
BBQ and eat at picnic tables, enjoy croquet, badminton, ping-pong or table football - or play rounders or football on the meadow. Explore the ponds, woods and wildlife on this working farm and beyond enjoy the planned circular and long distance footpath routes. Cycle (BYO or hire bikes from us) around the historic Wool Towns on peaceful village roads of the South Suffolk Cycle Route and enjoy the local pubs and nature reserves along the way. Or hire kayaks or canoes and row down the River Stour. You can Go Ape in Thetford Forest, visit the numerous Suffolk National Trust properties (Ickworth House, Flatford Mill, Sutton Hoo, Lavenham Guildhall), or the lovely Suffolk Coast.
2-night weekends from £800. Midweek nights from £250, min 2 nights.
