Nearby Bowness on Windermere is home to The World of Beatrix Potter, and you can take a ferry across Windermere to discover Wray Castle and the stunning Claife Viewing Station. Heading west you can visit Hill Top (5 miles) or climb The Old Man of Coniston (12 miles). There are numerous quaint villages in the area including Ambleside (4.5 miles) and Hawkshead (9 miles). A wide variety of activities to take part in include mountain biking, climbing, golf, canoeing, kayaking, boat cruises, horse riding and paddleboarding.
