Castleton is a must with plenty to see and do, including the ruins of Peveril Castle, guided tours of Peak Cavern, boat trips through the underground caves of Speedwell Cavern, and unforgettable hikes up Mam Tor. The Peak District is a walker's paradise with trails near Bamford Edge for valley views, exploring Wyming Brook Nature Reserve, and far-reaching views at the top of Back Tor. Traditional villages such as Tideswell, Hathersage, and Bakewell are all nearby, or perhaps you'd prefer a day out in Sheffield? The Winnats Pass in Castleton is a delight for walkers, cyclists, and motorists alike. The pretty villages of Edale, Castleton and Hathersage, with their seasonal outdoor swimming pool, are all within 3 miles, as are the wonderful Castleton Caves. Visit Alton Towers or Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Buxton, Matlock Bath, and Carsington Water are all nearby, as are Ashbourne and Leek.
