About this property

Once an intimate family-run hotel, Cameley Lodge is a spacious holiday home with excellent self-catering facilities, a vast garden with a hot tub, and nine ensuite bedrooms to accommodate up to 21 guests. Guests love the space and the layout, which is fully accessible on the ground and first floors, the amenities, and the friendly owners who make planning a family reunion, celebration with friends, wellness retreat, or business event so easy. It's in the Somerset village of Cameley with panoramic views of rolling countryside in all directions. For all its rural appeal, the house is only half an hour from Bristol and Bath, and you can drive to Glastonbury, Wells, Wookey Caves, Stonehenge and Longleat in an hour or less.

Cameley Lodge is a holiday home suitable for groups near Bristol, Bath, Cheddar and some of the top attractions in Somerset. Enjoying a rural location in the hamlet of Cameley, it's so easy to get to as it's only a mile from the A37, linking to other trunk roads coming into the south west. As well as excellent self-catering amenities, guests can expect space for 21 people in nine ensuite bedrooms, a hot tub, a games room, a huge garden and lots of parking. Cameley Lodge is perfect for organising a Christmas family reunion, getting together with your friends to celebrate a milestone birthday or anniversary, hosting family and friends for your wedding, or arranging a work or wellness retreat.

Cameley is a small hamlet near Temple Cloud. It's such a pretty spot, reflected by the name given to it by the Anglo-Saxons, which means "curved river meadows". This entire area has been owned by Glastonbury Abbey and the Knights Templar and is now a quiet place close to fantastic attractions yet peacefully removed from busy city life. Don't miss a visit to St James Church just by the turn-off to Cameley Lodge. The church dates back to the 1200s. It didn't suffer the enthusiastic restoration of so many ancient churches, so it looks very similar to how it did centuries ago with 15th-century pews.

When staying at Cameley Lodge you can enjoy it's excellent amenities. However, you are spoiled for choice if planning day trips. Bath, Bristol and Wells are only ten miles away, with a huge choice of places to eat, drink and shops, fantastic nightlife, and famous attractions like the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Royal Crescent. National Trust properties such as Tyntesfield, Stourhead and DyrhamPark are all within forty minutes drive. Glastonbury and Wells are only a short drive from the house, and Stonehenge is around an hour's drive. The Mendip Hills, Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes and with further afield Exmoor all have endless opportunities for walking and exploring Somerset. Weston super Mare and Burnham are great for a day at the seaside. Fishing/sailing/bird watching is popular at Chew Valley Lake as is horse racing (flat) during the summer at Bath Racecourse.

Cameley Lodge has the warmth and welcome of a private home with the convenience and efficiency of a country hotel.
