A pretty south Gloucestershire village, set in undulating countryside equidistant between the magnificent city of Bath and the Marine city of Bristol, both steeped in history. This attractive village, boasting a lovely local pub, is on the edge of the Avon Riverside, which offers great days out and also the opportunity to walk or cycle along the restored railway line. Bitton is close to the Mendip Hills, an aonb, with of Chew Valley Lakes and steep Gorges to explore; a truly fantastic landscape. Or, to the north, the more undulating environment of the Cotswolds offering picturesque villages. The Georgian streets of Bath make for an elegant day out, while vibrant Bristol has plenty to offer, from trips to the theatre, a visit to the aquarium or just an afternoon spent relaxing by the water. Bitton also hosts the Avon Valley Railway, a must for all railway enthusiasts who want to be whisked back to the age of steam, with a packed programme of events and experiences.
