About this property

Overlooking Porthmeor Beach in iconic St Ives, sits this splendid homestay for up to nine guests. Set over three floors, the principal sitting room and front bedrooms offer guests tantalising views of turquoise waters and wild surf at the beach below. On the ground floor, is a large sitting room with space and sofas for everyone, this opens in to the dining room and kitchen. At the rear, there is a handy utility space and a downstairs shower room. Upstairs on the first floor, there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom on this floor is ensuite and is blessed with gorgeous elevated sea views while the other two bedrooms are both twin rooms or can be configured as king-size doubles on request. On the top floor is a single bedroom and another bedroom with king-size bed and an ensuite shower room, again looking out to some stunning sea views above Porthmeor Beach. There is a small courtyard space accessed either via the kitchen's french doors or through the utility area, as well as a small decked balcony off the first floor twin bedroom at the rear. Stroll in to the buzzing centre of St Ives with its pretty harbour and wide range of shops, galleries and eateries or hop on a boat to see beautiful St Ives from the water on all sides. If you can tear yourself away from this enchanting town, take the scenic coast road towards Lands End for a real taste of truly unspoiled West Cornwall with its historic tin mines and rugged beauty. Stylish and well placed for beach lovers, this is a great choice for larger families or groups of friends looking to get away to the West.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!

As previous review of property commented it could benefit from freshening up but still well equipped and comfortable stay. Dishwasher broke during our stay however dealt with via property company. Parking tight but able to get two cars on drive (VW Golf and Merc estate) and so helpful to have parking in St Ives. A few ants noticed but it is the season as we mentioned this to the property company when I spoke with them about the dishwasher. Food items well received and lots of games/jigsaws available too. Would reconsider booking if we return to St Ives

However, the decor is surprisingly shabby for start of season - scuff marks, water stains and damp marks on walls and ceilings; water pressure is too low to shower in the upstairs shower room; shower hose broken in the ground floor shower room; ant infestation in the kitchen.

Plenty of space, best equipped kitchen we've used in a rental. Were able to park 2 cars, very tight, but can be done depending on make. Great location for the town and all it has to offer. For info the ironing board is in a poor state and could do with replacing.
