About this property

Onedin House is a delightful late Victorian house, boasting magnificent views of the River Dart and out to sea. Exceptionally well equipped, this centrally located holiday home is spread over four floors and provides a ‘home from home’ that equally suits two families or three couples.

Located only five minutes from the town centre, there are a wonderful array of boutique shops, award-winning restaurants, art galleries and tea rooms within easy reach. With the Start Bay coastline just a 10 minute drive away, this is truly a fantastic base for a coastal holiday.

The property was named by its former owners, the leading actors in The Onedin Line (the famous television drama series in the 1970's which was filmed locally). Enjoy stunning views from the sitting room, balcony, two of the three bedrooms and delightful South-facing garden.

The property has an attractive, comfortable lounge area, a kitchen/dining room and a top floor sitting room with a dormer window opening out onto a small balcony. Sleeping up to six guests are three bedrooms - on the first floor are a double bedroom with river views, and a twin bedroom. On the second floor is a master bedroom with King-size bed and stunning water views. There are also two family bathrooms, one on the first floor, and one on the second floor.

With a wonderful patio and a mature garden, plus an annual parking permit provided for one car for the Mayors Avenue public car park, guests at this property are very well catered for!

Ideally located to explore Devon's coast and countryside, Onedin House is a fantastic choice for a holiday in this picturesque region.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

The house is very comfortable with everything you need. The history of it is fascinating and the art work and pictures around the house are brilliant. It was spotlessly clean and was nice to arrive to everything needed to make a drink on arrival. Both bathrooms have a bath and shower so would comfortably cater for a family. The ‘snug’ at the top of the house is amazing with stunning views. We enjoyed a morning cuppa and a glass of wine in the evening. Dartmouth is a fantastic place to visit with lots to see and do. We will 100% be returning to Onedin House.

immaculately clean (apart from the grill...tiny point!) I've never stayed anywhere that had everything you could possibly need, including binoculars to look at the amazing view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Loved the house, certainly kept us oldies fit walking round town and up your road and up the stairs to the great top floor second lounge with stunning views
