About this property

Millside, a wonderful and stylish, six-bedroom holiday dwelling is nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the charming town of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. Here, you can enjoy the best of both worlds; all the local amenities you need are close by, while you can also take the time to appreciate the tranquil setting and the peacefulness of the countryside. After parking up off-road, step inside to find a spacious and impressive home-from-home across three floors, offering a range of activities to keep all the family entertained. On the ground floor, make the most of the open-plan living space complete with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove, perfect for cosy nights in and catching up with your loved ones. Allow the budding chef to rustle up a delicious meal before settling down with a bottle of wine, sharing stories until sundown; alternatively, if you prefer to bask in your surroundings a little while longer, why not make the most of the enclosed garden to enjoy an alfresco delight. The bubbling hot tub is also a welcome luxury after a long day of traversing your surroundings on foot, perfect for kicking back and planning your itinerary for the days ahead. On the lower-ground-floor, the younger members of your party can keep themselves entertained in the games room, before finishing the day with a long soak or revitalising shower and climbing into bed. There are three lovely bedrooms residing on this floor, with the remaining three bedrooms located on the first floor, each well-adorned for a charming place to rest your head. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic home and its hot tub, venture out to explore the independent shops, pubs, and restaurants of Nailsworth, the nearby towns of Stroud and Cirencester, as well as the historic cathedral city of Gloucester. In Stroud, you will find the Stroud Canal Centre, the Museum in the Park and a variety of independent shops and eateries, while Cirencester is home to the Corinium Museum and an array of independent boutiques. For some culture, head to Gloucester, with its historic cathedral and a range of fascinating attractions, such as the Walks of Gloucester, the Gloucester Waterways Museum, and the National Waterways Museum. No matter what you choose to do, a holiday at Millside promises to be one to remember.

The former mill town of Nailsworth lies in the beautiful wooded Stroud Valley with events and festivals announced by the local Town Crier. It offers numerous high quality shops, a delicatessen, two butchers, an award-winning organic cafe, restaurants, art and antique galleries and a farmers’ market. Close by are Badminton and Gatcombe Park, famous for their horse trials, the historic wool village of Painswick and High Grove in royal Tetbury. The area offers many lovely walks including the 105 mile Cotswold Way with some of the most beautiful scenery in the country and the many walks around Westonbirt Arboretum which also hosts many concerts, festivals and plays. The Gothic Woodchester Manor is well worth a visit as is the ancient market town of Minchinhampton with its weekly market held in the 17th century Market House, numerous individual shops, antique shops, traditional pubs and cafes. Nearby, Minchinhampton, Rodborough and Selsley Commons, managed by the National Trust, cover over 500 acres and offer far-reaching 360 degree views, ideal for walkers and cyclists. They are also home to three 18 hole golf courses and the historic Winstones Ice Cream Factory. The waterfront city of Gloucester, with its Victorian Docklands, is just a short drive away, whilst the town of Cirencester, known as 'The Gateway to the Cotswolds' offers many ancient buildings and museums, and the spa town of Cheltenham boasts Georgian architecture and the Gold Cup horse race. A perfect base for enjoying this unspoilt part of England.

Comfortable and fantastic facilities. Perfect for our family gathering for the Bank Holiday weekend. We stayed on for the remaining of the week; my wife and I plus my parents. We were able to explore the Cotswolds which made Millside the perfect home from home; great location and the perfect home. We will definitely be recommending to our friends and we hope to be back again. Thank you to Steve & Diana for letting us enjoy your lovely home @ Millside.

The house is fantastic & equipped to a high standard. The kids (& bigger kids!) loved the games room which provided fun times whilst we were in the house as well as the lovely hot tub. Steve (the owner) has clearly made sure there is something for all generations to enjoy. The outside space is also a pleasant area & although the weather prevented us taking advantage of it I imagine in better weather you could spend whole days just in the accommodation. Its location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds & local experiences such as Alpaca walking & Birds of Prey, both a 25 minute drive away. There were also a few pubs within walking distance when we didn’t want to drive. Credit too to Abi for presenting the house spotlessly clean. Considering it’s size & the time between changeovers she clearly does an excellent job & whilst this is a ‘dog friendly’ house, you’d be hard pressed to note any dogs had been in the property. Additionally she was readily contactable to answer any questions we had. Overall we would highly recommend Millside as a suitable Cotswold location that provides for all generations. Thank you Steve for providing such a wonderful accommodation & for the ‘special Birthday’ touch provided on our arrival. Much appreciated

It accommodated our large group very well, space wasn't an issue and facilities were great. The location was also very close to a little town, so you can get supplies within minutes. The only real negative was the 2 upstairs master bedrooms have skylights directly above the bed with no blinds! So if you're up late with friends make sure you bring an eye mask or you'll be up at sunrise. Otherwise it was lovely, with ample parking very well kept.
