About this property

Framlingham 3.6 miles. Brook House is located close to Framlingham in Suffolk and originally the village butcher’s shop. Brook House offers an inviting holiday home spread across two floors and is perfect for family and friends to come together and enjoy their self-catering holiday. On the ground floor is a spacious accommodation perfect for socializing, the sitting room with generous seating is particularly inviting with its bold colours and wood-burning stove oozing style, in addition there is a family room ideal for those looking for some peace and relaxation in front of the wood-burning stove. There is a bespoke fitted kitchen/dining room which was formerly the butchers shop, now converted to create a space that’s certain to entice any budding chefs, whilst the dining table allows the rest of a party to pull up a seat and keep the chef entertained. Located at the rear of the property is a handy shower room, perfect for washing those sandy toes after a day exploring the Suffolk Coast. Upstairs there are four sumptuous bedrooms, offering a welcoming space to retreat too, complete with family bathroom with separate shower. Brook House is within easy reach of the East Suffolk Heritage Coast which has loads of beautiful walks and cycle rise with some breath-taking views along the way and both Orford and Aldeburgh are both just a short drive away offering a traditional English experience at its best. Southwold is home to the famous Adnams Brewery which is well worth a visit and if you fancy any more tipple tours then check out the English Whiskey Company, Shawsgate Vineyard and Valley Farm Vineyard, all within a short drive. Other attractions include Framlinghams famous ‘Castle on the Hill’, Halesworth Museum, Oasis Camel Park, Go Ape Thetford, Ellough Park Kart Circuit and Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens. If you fancy more beach action then pack a picnic and head to Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich or Walberswick. For more than a thimble-full of enjoyment, book a relaxing break at Brook House.

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror (1066-1087) presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.

Super comfortable, well equipped and spacious. We loved our weekend at Brook House and can recommend the Victoria pub in the village for Sunday lunch. We hope to stay again.
