About this property

28 Water Street is a mid-terrace cottage situated in the heart of Skipton, North Yorkshire. Just a short walk from a range of amenities in this renowned market town, 28 Water Street welcomes families for a special stay in North Yorkshire. After a long day, kick back in the lounge and relax on the settee, flicking on the Smart TV in search for your favourite show. All your culinary needs will be taken care of in the well-equipped kitchen, with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer allowing you to create a delicious meal with ease. The dining room is ideal for mealtimes and to the rear a conveniently located outdoor covered area with a washing machine and tumble dryer available. Head upstairs to discover three bedrooms; two doubles and a single, whilst the bathroom has a bath and shower over, so you can choose how best to freshen up. Explore the vibrant town of Skipton, where the cobbled streets are filled with interesting boutiques, independent stores, and cafes that you have to explore. Enjoy a performance at the Skipton Little Theatre or stone circle walk at nearby Grassington, or head to the Roman spa town of Harrogate for luxury shopping, and cafes, such as Betty's Tea Room and the RHS Garden Harlow Carr. Explore more of North Yorkshire and experience the breathtaking scenery of the Yorkshire Dales or visit the historical sites of York Minster and Castle Howard. Whether you're looking for an adventure-filled day out or simply wanting to relax in tranquil surroundings, 28 Water Street is your ideal gateway to the North of England.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!

Lots of lighting and perfect for our family get together. The closeness of the town being on the doorstep was so handy with the canal and castle near by. There was a lovely token and tea left for us too which was much appreciated after a long journey. Will definitely be visiting again, thank you.

House spacious and warm. There were NO instructions about anything incl. how to work TV or washing machine or rubbish disposal. Smart TV would only work on BBC channels through I player. Owner sent nephew round but he could not work it either. Hot water pressure was extremely low. Would have taken 1hr + to run bath. Shower was good. Kitchen well equipped.

It looked like it's previous home was in the back room where there was a coax cable on the back room on the window ledge, the property could do with a combi boiler to replace the archaic system which still requires a hot water tank complete with immersion heater as this would improve the rate of flow from the hot water taps. Apart from this everything else was fine and the owner/s did everything they could to welcome us as their guests providing certain materials for the children, seasonal mini pumpkins placed in the back room along with some snacks & sweets & there was some milk in the fridge, hope to visit again.
