About this property

This stunning, detached house is set in the quaint town of Rothesay on the beautiful Isle of Bute. Situated in a lovely hilltop location, the property enjoys glorious sea views and a large flourishing garden. The traditional interior has been lovingly refurbished to provide a welcoming accommodation for families and friends looking to explore this remote part of Scotland. Hearty feasts can easily be prepared in the kitchen, equipped with several integrated appliances, whilst the dining area provides ample seating so everyone can gather during mealtimes. There are two sitting rooms here, one of which has a TV, whilst both enjoy fabulous views of the sea and the passing boats. The rest of the ground floor is occupied by a utility with washer/dryer, a shower room and a twin room for added flexibility. Move upstairs to discover the four bedrooms, including two doubles and a twin, all of which are beautifully furnished and served by the family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Outside are magnificent gardens to explore and plenty of nearby walks through the woodlands and towards the coast. Just a mile away is the main island town of Rothesay and where you will find castle ruins, a harbour and a selection of shops, not to mention Mount Stuart House, which is a very popular attraction. To the North of Rothesay, through the small community of Port Bannatyne, lies Ettrick Bay, a lovely beach which is easily accessible and safe for swimming. If you wish to explore more of Scotland, then catch a ferry across to Glasgow and make use of the fabulous attractions and amenities. A quality accommodation on this unspoilt Scottish island. EPC Rating: Band D

Rothesay is a wonderful area in the Isle of Bute, with so much to see and do, including visiting the castle ruins, taking in the stunning scenery, discovering the wonderful Mount Stuart House and playing a game of golf on one of the island's three golf courses. There was everything you could want in the kitchen. I will say, The maintenance/Cleaning was disappointing The hoover would not pick up , there was no floor brush , I bought one to brush everywhere. The Iron was not great, had to clean, couldn’t get marks off. The pillows are stained in every room A couple of mattresses are stained The extractor filters were disgusting, I had to scrub them. Maintenance company Howarts need checking more. Thank you Mary McKenzie

It had lots of space was so cozy and comfortable, with lovely sofas in the living room, where we could enjoy the fantastic view over the water and the mountains that disappeared in mystic grey or appeared in beautiful pastel shades depending on the weather. The wonderful beds with crisp bedding, the comfortable down duvets and the generous pile of towels gave us a luxurious hotel feeling. We made extensive use of the very well-equipped kitchen and on rainy days we lit the wood stove there, wood was for sale in the Coop. In the kitchen we were only missing extra dishcloths and tea towels and some matching glasses. The wine glasses did not fit well in the dishwasher, they were better washed by hand, we noticed when one glass came out broken. The garden must be lovely when the weather is nice, and through the gate at the back you walk via a beautiful forest path to the village. The island is so lovely, and there are beautiful walks to take. The house is a 15 minute walk from the ferry and shops in Rothesay. A car is not really necessary. We highly recommend this house for an unforgettable holiday.
