Laurieknowe Coach House has a quiet and private location but is only a very short walk to all that Dumfries town centre has to offer including many historical links to both Scotland’s bloody past through Robert the Bruce and culture with Peter Pan and Robert Burns trails to enjoy.
Laurieknowe Coach House has a quiet and private location but is only a very short walk to all that the town centre has to offer. The town has many historical links to both Scotland’s bloody past through Robert the Bruce and more refined culture with figures such as Robert Burns, who lived, worked and in the town while only a 5 minute walk away is Moat Brae House which inspired Peter Pan’s creation, the house is now open to the public so that you can enjoy it’s history and fascination too. The River Nith runs through the town with attractive and peaceful walks and public parks.
The cottage is a new conversion from a former coach house and provides a luxurious holiday base fully equipped for quiet nights in after a day of exploring or if you would rather then there are many restaurants, Inns and other food outlets nearby.
Dumfries is well-placed to enjoy all kinds of opportunities for wildlife-watching, walking and hill-walking, visiting gardens and exploring castles and abbeys. There is a wide variety of locations to experience, including forests and coastal areas.
Laurieknowe Coach House accepts short breaks throughout the year with an any day arrival

Everything excellent. Quiet, secluded but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Good WiFi (important for my son). Could cook. I would tell guests about the Barony Country Foods for an excellent taste of Scotland - venison, duck, goose etc. No complaints in any department.

T his was a fantastic find, the property is clean, warm and comfortable, beautiful furnishings and excellent attention to detail. It felt like home from home. The property is brilliantly situated for walking into Dumfries which suited our visit. The added bonus was the little "extras" that were left for us by the owners, much appreciated

Brilliant totally a true get away
