Further afield, the port town of Amlwch is a popular location to discover local heritage at Copper Kingdom Centre, admire the picturesque port, and head to the outskirts where the historic site of Mynydd Parys awaits. Elsewhere on Anglesey, you can visit the Oriel Môn cultural centre in Llangefni, head to Rhosneigr and Aberffraw for more sandy beaches popular for surfing, and explore Breakwater Country Park (Parc Gwledig Morglawdd Caergybi) in the bustling town of Holyhead. Llanfechell is 1.5 miles from Cemaes Bay on Anglesey's northern tip in an aonb. The village is named after the 12th-century Mechell Church, where St. Mechell is buried. The ancient Parys mountain copper mines, with their lunar-like landscape, are seven miles away. The area is popular with geologists and archaeologists due to the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the several ancient monuments scattered around. Llanfechell has a village pub that serves traditional ale. Nearby Cemaes Bay has three pubs, a few shops, a natural sheltered harbour, and a sandy beach edged by grassy cliffs. Anglesey's miles of stunning and varied coastline offer walking, cycling, birdwatching, watersports, fishing, and quality golf courses. Anglesey Sea Zoo and National Trust properties and gardens are on this beautiful island, and Holyhead offers a day trip to Dublin. A family-friendly location.

This is a great place to stay especially if you like your wildlife, plenty of birds and could watch them all day from inside the caravan as there are bird feeders all over the big garden, we saw many birds we dont always see at home and of course the Cats, 7 of them some a bit shy at first and some will just come right over to you and try and sneak in the Caravan if you are not careful. Its a great place for walks and there is a walk right from the caravan down to a beach and nature reserve around 30 minutes away, you can see seals here and lots of wading birds, also there is a beautiful church of St Marys right round the corner where you can walk around and go inside, this stretches right back to the 12th centuary and the famous welsh artist sir kyffin williams is buried there. there is a lovely little sea side bay 10 minutes drive down the road at Cemaes where you can park up and grab food and walk on the beach, if you really need to get a big shop in then its only a lovely 15/20 minute drive into Holyhead itself past the ships coming in and out where there are plentiful supermarkets etc. We didnt want to come home, its ideal for people who want to get away from it all, would appeal to walkers, people who love nature and probably cyclists too, we left behind a great person in Gwen, 7 cheeky cats who one tried to sneak in the Car with us on the wayhome and a truly beautiful idyllic place where you can truly get away from it all, would definatly go back.

Gwen the owner was lovely, rang to see if I needed any shopping before I left home. Got me milk and put the heating on for my arrival, was so welcoming and I got to meet her 7 lovely rescue cats. I just had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing week. A perfect place to head out from if you wanted to go walking and be more energetic though. (I didn’t!). Had a very happy week.

She is lovely and kind. Nothing to much trouble including filling the bird feeders. Plus it's ideal for exploring Anglesey. I'm sure this is not our last visit.
