About this property

This delightful end-terrace Grade II cottage is located in the market town of Dolgellau in Wales, lying on the River Wnion, a tributary of the River Mawddach in the Snowdonia National Park. This stone cottage provides a wonderful base for exploring the area with its rich cycle paths, walks, rivers and waterfalls and is perfect for a couple, friends or a family who love the outdoors. Sympathetically refurbished this charming cottage is lovingly maintained and well-presented by the owner, the cottage maintains many of its wonderful features such as the original sash windows whilst modern day comforts have been successfully incorporated without losing any of its appeal as a cottage. The cottage is warm, stylish and well-appointed throughout with modern spotlighting and oak furniture. The light and bright interior and a warming palette of soft greys and neutral tones with splashes of vibrant colour creates a wonderful ambience and a relaxing atmosphere. A cosy sitting room welcomes you, with a large corner sofa providing comfy seating for everyone and a wonderful slate fireplace with raised hearth and a warming woodburning stove, perfect for those chillier evenings in front of the TV watching your favourite movie. The dining room is equally inviting and perfect for enjoying a romantic meal or family get-together, and the turned staircase, occupying one corner is a lovely feature and leads up to two well-appointed and stylish bedrooms, the main bedroom boasting a king-size bed, decorative cast iron fireplace and an en-suite basin and WC, whilst the twin room is ideal for the children. The modern kitchen with classic cream units and oak block worktops is well-equipped and caters for all your needs, but with a choice of pubs and eating establishments close by, all offering evening meals, I doubt you’ll want to cook - after all, you are on holiday! The shower room is located on the ground floor off the kitchen and has a fantastic walk-in double shower, basin with vanity and WC. The rear patio and courtyard garden offers your own little oasis of peace and privacy and is an ideal spot to enjoy early morning coffee or alfresco dining. There is also a very useful shed for bikes. A short stroll from the cottage and you are in Dolgellau's pretty town centre, offering a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Starting from the town is the Mawddach Trail, from where walking and cycling take in spectacular coastal and mountain scenery of the beautiful National Park, and the renowned mountain bike centre at Coed-y-Brenin is a short drive away. Slightly further afield, enjoy the stunning architectural gem of Portmeirion, take a historical trip to Harlech Castle, a World Heritage Site or enjoy the industrial heritage of the Blaenau Ffestiniog slate works and steam railway. For something a little more relaxing, a day on the beach perhaps? Beach lovers will find the beaches at Barmouth, Harlech and Fairbourne very accessible from here. With so much to see and do this wonderful cottage is the perfect place to explore the beautiful mountains or the stunning coastline.

This small, beautiful market town is located in the heart of southern Snowdonia, between the imposing Cader Idris mountain range and the sea. It’s a superb base for a holiday - perfect for combining the many outdoor pursuits on offer in Snowdonia with relaxing days out on the soft sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey. The town itself offers a good selection of shops, five pubs and a wine bar, along with a number of excellent restaurants, cafes and two bakeries, that produce fresh bread and cakes each day.
