The Farmhouse and The Byre B&Bs,
We are open all year round and we cater for all sorts of groups. Some people just come for a relaxing break and use us as a base to explore the area or for a family or group get together but we also host courses, retreats and workshops. Others choose to make their special celebration fabulous and unique – we’re licensed for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies at Welsh Green Weddings.
We are hugely flexible where accommodation is concerned and we can generally host most sorts of event. We can accommodate approximately forty on-site, including self-catering and B&B rooms as well as yurts and camping. Accommodation may be booked singly or in combination for larger groups.
The range of accommodation and spaces includes:
Ceridwen is located on the site of the old smithy and stables and can sleep 19 in 1 single, 5 twin rooms and 2 four-person rooms (one with ensuite). It was designed for groups and is spacious and comfortable, even when full.
The Old Dairy which is a renovated farm building function venue with capacity for up to 16 for an activity or 60+ seated and is a warm, cosy and beautiful space.
3 of the Yurts are in the orchard garden each sleeping a couple with space for 1 or 2 small children and an Eco Pod, sleeping 2 adults and 2 small children. Cooking facilities are shared in the summer house.
Derwen (Oak in Welsh) is the 4th 16ft Yurt and sits in its own clearing under an oak tree on a timber deck overlooking the Valley to the west. It has its own compost toilet accessed via a bridge from the deck with steps down to a cooking area with a small gas stove and cold water supply. The nearest showers are by the Tipi or down by the Old Dairy.
Bryn Helyg (sleeps 4) is of the same style and quality as the existing three yurts on Penybanc Farm, but slightly larger - 18ft 6inches rather than 16ft. It lives at the top of our tipi flower meadow, adjacent to the willow plantation, about 300 metres from the farmyard buildings.
Converted from a wood and tin clad large caravan, the Hop Shack is light, simply furnished and well-insulated and has electricity and an efficient wood burner. It has a lovely wooden veranda with great views and is located beyond the farm buildings looking up the hill, with sight of garden, meadow and willow plantation.
Our newly renovated 1964 Leyland Titan Double Decker Bus sits in a quiet spot that overlooks the valley. The bus has been brought back to its original livery on the outside and accommodates up to 6 people. It has two double bedrooms with toilets and separate access upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs behind the drivers’ cabin.
There are three double+ rooms in the farmhouse and 2 in The Byre for bed and breakfast.
All bookings can either be self-catered, part or full-board and in the school holidays bookings for Ceridwen are generally only for entire weeks starting on Fridays. Please ask for last-minute availability for shorter periods. Outside the school holidays, any length break is usually accepted.
The vegetarian catering is the bit that our full board guests really enjoy but self-catering guests can also try our homemade menus and order meals to put in the oven or buy fresh vegetables, jams, marmalades, homemade cakes and bread.
Our green and eco friendly credentials are very important to us and features on the farm include solar water heating and a biomass boiler for heating and solar electricity.
