Refurbished in 2016 and 2017 Wellwood Lodge is a lovely large Victorian house in the historic spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire. A newly installed bespoke hand made oak staircase rises through the heart of the house to the 6 double/twin bedrooms and 4 bathrooms one of which is en suite to the 4 poster bedroom, 2 bedrooms have an extra single bed. 2 cots are available.
There is a huge 31 ft long lounge great for entertaining, this room has benefited from recent updating.
The attractive garden leading from the conservatory has two picnic style tables to seat 16 and a charcoal fuel barbecue

The house is ideally situated for experiencing the varied landscape of the Peak District National Park, where rugged moors and pretty dales offer an abundance of activities from walking, cycling, climbing, caving and fishing.

If you're after a cultural break, the house is convenient to the town's famous sights - Buxton boasts lovely parks and gardens, a wonderful theatre, a stunning opera house, shopping arcades and ancient buildings, pubs and restaurants. There are 2 theatres and a wide variety of programmes are shown throughout the year including the renowned festival of Opera in July.

Stay at Wellwood Lodge and you will be able to explore beautiful countryside by walking from your door - a scenic reservoir and woodland are just around the corner, while for a longer hike you can access heather moorland by traversing the many picturesque footpaths. The bustling market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne are a short, scenic drive away as are many National Trust properties in addition to Chatsworth, the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and Haddon Hall, a fine example of Elizabethan architecture, home to the Duke of Rutland.

If you are looking for activity and culture on your holiday, this fantastic house in the Peak District is a great choice, at any time of the year.

We do offer 2 night weekends, but please appreciate the discount versus a 3 night weekend is small because the opportunity to secure a full week or long weekend booking is lost, being based in one of England's top tourism areas we encourage you to stay longer to explore the glorious Peak District and beautiful Buxton.
