A spacious, contemporary town house set in a tranquil hillside location, just 400 meters from the bustle of Swanage’s sandy Blue Flag beach.

The Quarterdeck is relaxed, modern and roomy making it a great space to share with families and friends. It easily absorbs groups of up to 10 with all accompanying beach paraphanalia. Open plan living space, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms mean that you won't be getting under one another’s feet!

There is a large garden for children to play in. Overlooking the garden is a large patio with stylish garden furniture and a quality Weber BBQ, - perfect for alfresco entertaining. A fabulous first floor balcony runs the near width of the house. South-facing, this gives lovely views over both town and bay, perfect for sundowners after a busy day on the sands.

Accommodation is ‘Upside down’ style - which means the shared living spaces all have those glorious views over the town, the Purbeck Hills and the Bay. Due to the slope of the hillside, the first floor can be accessed at ground level via the back of the property. There are two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor - so group members with mobility issues do not have to venture downstairs. Smaller parties have the option to request that the 4th bedroom becomes a games room, with pool table, additional TV & DVD.

The proximity to the beach and the bars, cafes and restaurants of this delightful Victorian seaside town, means that many guests might not stray far. This is a vibrant community and there are a host of festivals throughout the year: Swanage Comedy Festival in March & September, Purbeck Arts Week May / early June, Swanage Jazz Festival in July, the Folk Festival in September and the Blues Festival in October. In summer, a fireworks display is held every Saturday night in August. The pièce de résistance is Carnival Week at the end of July/beginning of August. This a spectacular event when the whole town buzzes with live music, a colourful 2 mile carnival procession, fireworks, competitions, treasure hunts and a spectacular display by the Red Arrows.

There are also a host of watersport activities for all ages and abilities- you can try your hand at jet skis, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, diving or sailing. There are plenty of opportunities at both Swanage and the sheltered waters of Studland Bay, just 7 minutes drive away. The 4 miles of golden beaches are a popular destination. Here you can book a beach ride at the local stables, explore the trails and trackways of the surrounding heath or relax on one of Britain’s oldest Naturist beaches.

The stunning Jurassic coastline is yours to explore. Billed as “95 miles of coastline... 185 million years of history”, the geological record of the layers of sedimentary rock between Exmouth and Studland Bay form a near complete record of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. One of the most exciting ways to discover this natural World Heritage site is by sea. Take a boat trip or even explore the coast by kayak - you will find spectacular chalk sea stacks, hidden coves and plunging limestone cliffs.

There are plenty of family attractions - Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle and the fabulous Steam Railway are enduring favourites. Dino fans, both young and old will be fascinated to see the fossilized tracks at Keates Quarry. Venture further afield and take a day trip to Brownsea Island.
