4 en-suite bedrooms sleeping up-to 12, with good quality mattresses to ensure a good night’s sleep. This lovingly restored Victorian house is renovated to four-star modern standards. It has a mature south facing garden and patio to enjoy the best of English weather, allowing you to relax and watch the world go by. The scenic North Yorkshire Moors Railway passing the door is an interesting distraction, whilst enjoying a bbq or a quiet drink.
With complete control of your heating and hot water, you have no need to be too hot or cold. Each radiator has its own thermostat.
Generous amounts of crockery, cutlery and glasses allow the dishwasher to be in use and still have enough available for your next meal.
Ground floor wetroom and toilet saves having to go upstairs during the day.
For a cosy night in with a few drinks, fire up the wood burner in the lounge, play our selection of games and giggle the night away.
TV with DVD player and an ipod dock to set the mood.
Excellent views of the trains as they pass the windows. Enjoy waving at the trains as they pass.
Children are very welcome but please be aware that they must be supervised at all times when outside in the garden and parking area. This is due to the unfenced Mill Leat (River) on one side and the railway on the other. A fenced area away from the mill leat is available at the side of the house with the railway alongside, so supervision is still recommended. Cots and highchairs are available free of charge.
The market town of Pickering has 9 pubs, 2 supermarkets, a good selection of independent shops, an organic farm shop, cafes and takeaways. Market day is Monday, with farmers market every 3rd Thursday each month. The monthly food market in Malton is well worth a visit.
Safe bike storage is available, so why not bring your mountain bike and try your skill on the purpose built course in Newbridge Woods (small fee applicable) or use our free car pass and explore the world renowned tracks in Dalby Forest. Folders with bike rides and walking routes are available in the cottage.
If you want to explore further, why not enjoy the stunning scenery of the Norh York Moors or the Yorkshire Wolds, by car or on foot. Experience Yorkshire's Jurassic fossil coast, where you can find dinosaur footprints. Try Whitby’s guided fossil walk or just go beach combing. Walk around York’s ancient city walls and find out about its bloody past, do a ghost walk, or just shop.
Enjoy the thrill of Flamingo Land theme park.
For culture, Yorkshire has some wonderful theatres, art studios, craft shops, museums and historic houses. We have an extensive list of visitor attractions to suit every taste and age group.
