The Gothic Church is the perfect venue for larger group get togethers. Family, friends, hen parties and corporate groups will love this original and atmospheric property. It is also the perfect place to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Built in 1832 in the Gothic Revival style, this unique property is situated in a sleepy village 2 miles from lovely Wells, England's smallest city and just over half an hour away are two fantastic larger cities - the World Heritage City of Bath, with its sightseeing, fabulous shopping and famous Thermae Bath Spa - and bustling Bristol, with its famous zoo, great shopping, museums and the SS Great Britain.
There are plenty of local activities for groups to enjoy, including golf, riding, clay pigeon shooting and of course, walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Walking, caving and rock climbing can be enjoyed at the nearby world famous beauty spot of Cheddar Gorge and children will enjoy a visit to Wookey Hole Caves. And for your inner hippy, Glastonbury is only a few miles away.
The Gothic Church has been fully modernised, yet retains many wonderful original features, such as the stained glass windows. The spacious Chancel living room features Gothic windows and a large central wood burner and there are 6 spacious bedrooms sleeping 17 guests plus extra beds (3-4) in the living room. The huge 44' kitchen breakfast room has a large dining area and there is an additional mezzanine dining gallery with magnificent feature stained glass windows. There are 2 large shower rooms and one spacious bathroom. Outside there is a courtyard featuring decking and a wood cabin with hot tub. (There is no BBQ at the property but you can bring your own throwaway one if you like).
For those with mobility difficulties, there are bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor but there is no special wheelchair access.
One thing we have decided NOT to do is make our guests pay higher prices for different seasons and holiday dates. We donít like doing this when we go on holidays and we wonít do it with you. However, we do have to insist on a minimum two night stay, as otherwise it is difficult to keep the costs of presenting the Church beautifully for you.
For 2017 the price will stay the same as 2016, at £139.50 per person for a 2 night stay, based on a minimum group of 16 guests, i.e. £2232.00. Additional guests (up to a maximum total of 21) will be charged at £99.00 each per weekend.
Minimum Stay: 2 nights
There is an additional booking/damages deposit of £450 (£650 for longer stays), which is held until after your stay subject to there being no damages.
Please enquire for mid-week stays; last minute deals, special offers and individual circumstances.
