Stunning grade II* listed Jacobean manor house in glorious rural location.
The Courthouse is situated in the little hamlet of Up Mudford on the Somerset/Dorset border. Hidden at the end of the evocatively named “Primrose Lane” and surrounded by fields, this beautiful old house offers the perfect rural idyll.
There has been a manor here for centuries, from the early C12th to the Dissolution it was held by the by monks of Montacute Abbey. The present house dates from the 1630’s, the turbulent decade before England plunged into bloody Civil War.
This grand old house exudes age and charm, mullioned windows peep out from wisteria clad walls. Inside, the huge entrance hall with its grand staircase sets the tone from the beginning. Explore further and you will find massive stone fireplaces and flagstone floors. The house is beautifully furnished - think relaxed country chic. Traditional rugs bedeck rooms peppered with antiques.
There is plenty of living space. The dining room is a glorious room in which to gather together. A woodburner set in the magnificent fireplace keeps things cosy, whilst large bay windows look out over the lawn. There are 2 sitting rooms, both with wood burning fires and a large, well equipped kitchen with underfloor heating.
There are 7 bedrooms most of which can be twin or king size:

Bedroom 2: Twin
Bedroom 3: Twin/King size & Bunkbeds
