Perched atop the hill in the small town of Rovinjsko Selo, offering enchanting views of the sea and the countryside, Villa Buje is a grand villa just 10 minutes from Rovinj – the Pearl of Adriatic Coast!

Built in just 2013, the villa is a contemporary, utterly stylish home designed with the demands of modern life in mind. Tons of entertainment facilities, including a pool table, table tennis and kid’s playhouse, as well as a sauna, Jacuzzi and private pool,  put this villa a real step above the rest!

In the dazzling living area, there is a massive wall of comfy sofas for all the group in front of the satellite TV and besides the fabulous modern fireplace. A large dining table sits alongside the kitchen, seating ten, while the kitchen is similarly broad and spacious, with a fantastic central island both creating space and acting as a breakfast bar, ideal for casual mornings.

The kitchen is equipped with all the latest mod cons and is a pleasure to use! There is also a magnificent games room, with a pool table, table football, TV and a small kitchen with a casual dining area and alongside all of this – a sauna with a shower and plenty of fitness equipment!

 

There are five sophisticated and elegant double bedrooms, each with breathtakingly beautiful ensuite facilities, including an array of warm, bright bathrooms and several free-standing bathtubs – offering the height of luxury in the privacy of your room!

Each room is designed for maximum comfort and pleasure, with tasteful décor and only the most elegant furniture. The room on the top floor enjoys plenty of space and a small balcony with exquisite views over the surrounding natural countryside and all the way to the sea!

In the enchanting garden, you will find yet more options for fun and games, relaxing and creating special memories. The private pool sits centrally on the terrace, offering a perfect spot to gather all the group for quality time together, resting on the sun loungers in the beautiful sunshine, or else splashing and playing in the pool.

A children’s playhouse with a hammock and swing sits beside a trampoline on the lawn, while there’s a charming alfresco dining area by the barbeque! The Jacuzzi on the terrace offers the most stylish spot to kick back and relax, perhaps sipping a glass of the local wine, or even a cocktail or two!

The casual seating area on the veranda is ideal for this, too. A ten-minute drive will deliver you to the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ itself, Rovinj – a delightful town with winding cobbled streets of cafes, bars and restaurants, and a charming marina.

For more adventurous activities, 5km away you can rent bikes, and you will find plenty of marked trails to follow just a short ride away!

And within 50 minutes you can visit Učka Nature Park, a sprawling protected area with hiking routes leading to canyons, waterfalls and historic sites, putting unspoilt nature at your fingertips!

Just 10 minutes away, you can’t miss the delightful Venetian coastal town of Rovinj, half-way up the western coastline. Wander the old city, with its Venetian architecture and marble streets and admire the views across the marina before settling for a meal in one of its many beautiful sea-side restaurants. Also around 10 minutes away is Lim Bay, a beach set in the dramatic, forested fjord which stretches for miles inland!

A charming heart-shaped peninsula in the north-west of Croatia, Istria is warm, welcoming and perfectly-sized – you can drive the length in around an hour, putting everything within easy reach!

From breath-taking scenery, rich history and a world-famous culinary scene – you will find it all in Istria! As a former part of the Venetian Republic, this region has seen many rulers from the Romans, Byzantines and Austro-Hungarians to the Italians and Yugoslavians. Now, a myriad of enchanting towns and villages, rich in history and culture, are nestled among the undulating countryside.

Active holiday-makers will be delighted with the offerings: from windsurfing in Medulin to scuba diving in the Brijuni National park and rock climbing, hang-gliding and walking in Buzet along the 15km ‘seven waterfalls’ walk, Istria has it all.

Both along the dramatic coastal paths and in the mountains inland, you will find an abundance of natural paths for cycling (including the scenic Parenzana route over an old railway line from Viznada to the Slovenian border) and rugged off-road hiking trails. Pick up a trail-map from any of the Tourist Offices, for loads of well-marked routes around the coast and in the Cape Kamenjak.

Much like its neighbouring Italy, Istria is a gastronome’s paradise, home to world-class cuisine and endless rows of vineyards. Be sure to try the local wines, which are often sweet and fruity, using a wide variety of grapes including white Malvasia, red Terrano and Moscato.

 Istria is especially famous for its truffles, which you will find served with any dish and sauce! Truffle flavoured olive oil is a typical product of the region, and indeed, you will hardly find a village which does not have its own Olive oil ‘supermarket’!

Unlike the rest of Croatia, Istrian food tends to be light and heavily influenced by its Italian neighbours. Generally, pasta, gnocchi, risotto and polenta accompany each meal, while the coastal areas specialise in a fantastic array of seafood, including scampi, squid and sole and inland it is more common to find prosciutto, or ‘pršut’, and sausages.

Both Rijeka and Pula have international airports within a short drive of the villa, while Pula is the central hub for those getting ferries, although there is a daily ferry between Poreč and Venice.
