Situated on the hillside in the heart of 1850, this wonderful apartment is just moments from the slopes, offering an idyllic setting to enjoy a luxury alpine escape.
Bright and spacious, Rue Bruneau has the feel of a traditional mountain chalet, with wooden floors and exposed timber beams, whilst stylish furniture and eclectic decor create a warm and inviting setting. Upon entering, a central living room enjoys plenty of natural light, with tall sloping ceilings and large openings that frame views out to the slopes. Double doors open onto a balcony, where you can sit out with a warm cup of hot chocolate and soak up the fresh mountain air. To the rear of the room, a neat kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals throughout your stay, and a generous dining table has ample room to sit together and share entertaining evenings. Several sofas and an armchair are positioned at the front of the room, where you can curl up with a book or sit in comfort and look out across the snow-dusted pines.
On the upper level, two delightful bedrooms are nestled beneath the sloping roofs, each beautifully furnished with thoughtful decor and large double beds that ensure a peaceful night's sleep. One of the rooms enjoys its own ensuite, whilst the other is served by an independent bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The master suite can be found on the lower floor, immaculately presented with a spacious bathroom, including a shower hammam, offering a wonderful way to end a long day in the mountains.
Nestled on the hillside in the heart of Courchevel, Rue Bruneau is right on the edge of the slopes whilst being just a short walk from the local shops and restaurants, inviting you to enjoy the 1850s buzzing atmosphere.
Situated in the Rhône-Alpes région, Courchevel forms part of the Trois Vallées, making up the world’s largest connected ski resort. Covering nearly 150 km of local runs, an efficient lift network and an impressive piste map have something to suit everyone. Topping out at 2740m, La Saulire is the highest point, with a number of steep corridors and technical slopes for those after a challenge. Sitting within a deep shaded bowl, Combe Saulire is a great signature red best hit early in the morning, or hire a guide and head off-piste to unlock the valley’s full potential. Plenty of ski schools offer both group and private tuition, ideal for those just starting out, whilst two nursery areas and several dedicated beginner zones are perfect for building up confidence before heading further up the mountain.
Since the first lift was completed in 1946, Courchevel has soared in popularity and is now host to a number of luxury hotels, bringing with them an exclusive fine dining scene. For those just looking for a midday snack, there are plenty of slope-side restaurants where you can ski to the door and stop for a well-earned break. At 2700m, Le Panoramic is a great spot for lunch in the sun, with a splendid terrace where you can enjoy views across the valley or head up to Le Bel Air to enjoy delicious dishes of traditional Savoyard Cuisine. With live music and dancing, Les Verdons is a fun place to end the day or to enjoy a more relaxed affair; La Sauilire has a warm and inviting interior that is perfect for a cosy evening meal.
For non-skiers, a pedestrian lift pass will give you access to the mountain, and a network of hiking trails is a wonderful option for exploring the valley on foot. Grab a pair of ‘raquettes’ and take a walk through the scented pines, or hop on a sledge and be pulled along by a pack of charming huskies. For those after more of a thrilling adventure, paragliding flights are available year-round, inviting you to fly above the forests and enjoy the ultimate view. Various toboggan runs weave through the lower villages or head to Moriond, where you can expect a heart-stopping experience, speeding down the impressive 3km luge track.
At the heart of the resort, 1850 is lined with shops and restaurants, and you can wander through the snow-lined streets and soak up the joyous atmosphere. Most of the high-end hotels can also be found at this elevation, with many of them boasting impressive exclusive spa facilities that are open to non-guests. Why not take a break from the slopes and opt for an indulgent afternoon, booking in for a treatment or enjoying a relaxing massage.
