For one, the River Cam itself runs right through the heart of the city and is very popular for Punting, which is to Cambridge as Gondola is to Venice, and without the hefty price tag of the Venetian canals. Visitors are encouraged to try this for themselves and either rent a whole boat or book a punting tour, perfect for a family outing or romantic trip under the setting sun.
