Boconnoc House is a country estate tucked away down two miles of private roads. The house was beautifully restored by the Fortescue family over a 12 year period and retains the elegance of the Georgian era but with the 20th Century comforts and luxury we expect today. Retaining many original features the drawing room has wonderful decorative classical mouldings, plaster cornicing, coving and ceiling roses. There is an exceptionally beautiful painted staircase depicting four goddesses.

Situated amongst rolling parkland, you get a real sense of magic as you drive through the gates and weave your way up to the house. The house transports you to the elegance and ambiance of a by-gone era. Surrounded by woods and farmland it is the perfect location for large house parties, with 9 bedrooms and bathrooms, four large reception rooms, two of which have log fires, kitchen, a games room and a library filled with books, and also with a projector for movie nights, it has everything you need to entertain large numbers of guests.

There are lovely walks throughout the estate around the deer park and lake, through the woodlands and up to the the obelisk. The estate is tranquillity itself affording a peaceful and away from it all holiday, there are many lovely locations to sit amongst the gardens, listen to the sounds of water flowing and birdsong, and where you can appreciate the truly Cornish landscape. The closest shop and pub are at the small creek side village of Lerryn, about 10 minutes drive away, a honey pot for artists with its lovely views. Lostwithiel is the nearest small town, approximately 3 miles away, once the chief stannery town of Cornwall where there are a number of interesting antique shops, several pubs and restaurants serving great local food and the usual assortment of butchers, baker and grocery shops. The nearest beach is 20 minutes away by car at Lantic Bay, however it is also only a short drive to the extensive choice of beaches both on the North and South coast, with the picturesque quay and estuary views at Fowey and a small sandy cove at Readymoney. Boconnoc is within 15 minutes of the A30, 4 hours from London, trains from Paddington to Liskeard or Bodmin run frequently and the stations are about 15 minutes away. There are some excellent places to visit close by with National Trust Lanhydrock House and Gardens and the Eden project about 20 minutes away.
