This Cumbrian cottage is ideal for discovering Wainwright's beloved Howgills, the nearby Cautley Spout, Britain's highest waterfall, and dramatic Dentdale, while the local area is home to many varieties of wildlife including buzzards and deer. With the Farfield Art and Heritage Centre, and the towns of Hawes, Kirkby Lonsdale, Bowness and Kendal all within easy reach, this lovely Sedbergh cottage provides an ideal base in which to relax, unwind and to get away from it all and enjoy the Cumbrian countryside.

Sedbergh - pronounced Sed-Ber – is an ancient market town situated in northern Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself boasts narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and a famous school, dating back to 1536. There is also an atmospheric 12th Century church. Dentdale is located amongst rolling hills and stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the heart of the dale is the town of Dent, which has existed since Norman times and is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, horse riding and fishing. With such incredible scenery and so many fascinating trails, the area is a great place for walkers and cyclists. This, together with the surrounding valleys and two National Parks, makes Sedburgh a fantastic spot for a holiday outdoors.

Warm and cosy, plenty of space, comfy beds , brilliant showers and lots of lovely soft towels. It was ideal for our family group spending quality time together in such lovely surroundings. Seeing all the newborn lambs in the fields around the barn was an added bonus. Thank you Dawn for your warm welcome. Hope to return next year.

Very well appointed throughout and especially the kitchen. The welcome gifts were much appreciated and the fresh flowers a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.
