About this property

A delightful, detached cottage situated in the heart of the colourful market town of Ulverston, close to the Lake District National Park. This superb cottage offers excellent accommodation and makes a perfect base for families and friends to explore this lovely corner of Cumbria, with mountains, lakes and coastal villages only 20 minutes’ drive away. This charming Ulverston cottage has three bedrooms, with the master ground floor double boasting its own en-suite, plus there is also a kitchen with dining area and a spacious sitting room. Outside this delightful Ulverston cottage is a rear patio with furniture, an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a well-earned glass of wine. In the market town of Ulverston there's a host of superb restaurants and pubs to enjoy plus, of course, the entertainment at the Coronation Hall. The town regularly comes to life with festivals including the colourful Flag Festival and later in the year the Dickensian and Charter Festivals – a fantastic celebration of Christmas. Being so close to the beautiful Lake District, there are plenty of lovely walks and bike rides available and guests may like to visit Grizedale Forest and enjoy the many trails through the trees or even embark on the tree top adventure course. Just 10 minutes’ drive away from this Lake District cottage is South Lakes Wild Animal Park, which is Europe’s most interactive animal park with regular feeding times, and the coastal area around Ulverston is really outstanding with spectacular sunsets across Morecambe Bay. This extremely well-presented Ulverston cottage is perfect at any time of the year.

The ancient market town of Ulverston still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it’s well known as a festival town with events throughout the year, including walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town’s great claims to fame is as the birthplace of Stan Laurel - it is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world! Facilities include a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. All of the attractions of the National Park are easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
