Ellencroft is a lovely single storey cottage in a very peaceful location at the end of a private drive and surrounded by rolling countryside. It provides lots of comfortable accommodation, the extensive lawned garden is great for ball games and the 'Croft' with its field and wild orchard is perfect for picnics and children's adventures.
The views are wonderful across the garden to the adjoining fields, often dotted by woolly sheep. A short scenic walk will take you to the Travellers Rest in Apperknowle, famed for its great pork pies and incredible selection of cheeses. Or try a pint in the camra Award winning Miners Arms just down the road.
This is a brilliant location with all of the Peak District's attractions like Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the Derwent Dams just a short drive away. But you might be tempted by some of the more local attractions. Chesterfield with its crooked spire and colourful outdoor market is worth a visit. Bolsover's magnificent castle or beautiful Hardwick Hall should be on your list. Sheffield and Meadowhall are close to hand with theatres and shopping, and it's not that much further to picturesque Clumber Park and Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest!

An attractive lounge with patio doors to the garden, views across to the fields, comfortable suite, T.V., DVD, Freeview and Wi-Fi. A spacious kitchen with quality units, five burner hob, double oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. An adjoining dining area with views of the garden and fields beyond. A master bedroom with double bed and similar views. A second double bedroom. A twin bedroom. A shower room with large power shower and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating and power are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a large patio terrace with furniture, extensive lawned garden, and access to the 'Croft' with its field and wild orchard. Parking for four cars is available. A small pet is allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details and a copy of the cottage access statement.
Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
