"Although we had a very wet week in Devon we really enjoyed our stay at the Granary. The cottage was cosy and we loved lighting the fire every evening.Dave and Helen were fabulous hosts. Always there for a chat but never Overly intrusive. Also a lovely little welcome package was a nice touch.Location was good. Short drives to some of the beaches and in town within 10-15 minutes.Lots of dog friendly pubs to make use of.Our son loved spending time chopping up wood for the evening fire.Yes we had read reviews about the bumpy road to the cottage but it really isn’t that bad, just take it nice and slow. You’re on holiday so why the rush!.Beds were really comfortable. So quiet on the farm. Slept like a log all week. All you need to be home from home."

"The only issue we had,was the cottage was a bit on the cold side, other than that we could not fault it,l would definitely recommend the granary to friends"

"It rained so much we came home after 2 daysThe road to cottage was awful, I would suggest you do not book this one if you have a sports car as it will bottom out"

"Very welcoming owners, available but non intrusive. Had a great time but found trouble booking meals out, this is possibly due to covid 19. We certainly did'nt go hungry, with plenty of dog friendly eateries in Barnstable. If you are looking to chill this is an ideal place to stay."
    Alex – 23 Sep 2020
"We've just spent a weekend at The Granary and it was amazing. The location was really good, so close to Ilfracombe, Coombe Martin and Woolacombe. Close to all of them but in a really quiet location. The owners were really thoughtful- even putting foil, fresh milk etc in the property for us.The only downside was the state of the drive- quite bumpy in places. Just don't drive your brand new car down there if its got low bodywork!"

"Lovely cottage clean and neat. Everything you need for holiday was like a home from home. Would definitely recommend it."
    Jane – 18 Aug 2020
"We had a wonderful 2 week holiday. The house is well equipped and comfortable. We loved using the wood burner with free logs. Helen and Dave were wonderful hosts who helped us with everything we needed. The Pyne Arms 5 min drive and the kings head in Georgeham were fab dog friendly pubs with excellent food. The beach between Woolacombe and putsborough ( parking around marine drive £8 a day) was lovely with fab waves and dunes and a great Takeaway cafe. A visit to Lynton and lynmouth was worthwhile and easy to reach Ilfracombe, croyde etc. Kayaking With surfside in nearby Coombe Martin Was fantastic. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. Overall a lovely place to stay within good reach of lovely beaches and places to visit."

"Out of the way - ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break from the fast-paced world of today. Plenty of dog-friendly places to visit within half hour drive. Our dog loved her first holiday with us at the farm The Granary was located at. Owners very helpful, friendly and accommodating."
    Margaret – 27 May 2019
"The cottage is very homely, and comfortable, and is just as described. The owners are very helpful, and welcoming. We arrived much later than anticipated, due to unavoidable delays on the motorway, but Helen and Dave greeted us, and made us instantly feel at home. the wine and the milk etc., were an added bonus, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at the Granary. We had glorious weather, and enjoyed going to various beaches with Bess - our collie, and exploring the area."

"A pleasant little cottage on a truly working farm as described, however the view is limited to a cow shed so does feel a little hemmed in but I’m sure other people would enjoy watching the comings and goings. The track leading to the cottage is very bad and I would imagine that if a family used their vehicle every day on the track it would be very annoying. The fire was lit when we arrived and we had a nice bottle of wine with chocolates and a Xmas card. The owners are lovely and had decorated the cottage with a Xmas tree and decorations for us. The only other negative would be that it was quite damp inside although the log burner and heaters kept it very warm and it was in December. I think the owners also need to invest in a new double bed as it was awfully uncomfortable, very hard and small. Plenty of space for a small family and it was very clean with electric blankets on all beds (although the double bed one didn’t work) Overall, a value for money cottage."
