Lower Great Torr is a charming attached period farmhouse situated on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Kingston, Devon, close to the dog-friendly Wonwell Beach and the South West Coast Path. The property has a large external porch area where you can kick off your muddy boots and thick coats and step into the spacious interior hallway. To the left of the front door is the attractive and cosy lounge area with its orange painted wall, giving the room a welcoming feeling.
The lounge has a range of comfortable seating, with a large flatscreen TV and a cosy woodburning effect stove to brighten up your evenings, there is strong wifi and a facility to access your own Netflix/Amazon Prime accounts. Furnished to a high-standard, the open-plan kitchen will inspire you to dust off those cook books and indulge in all the modern appliances at hand. With its attractive yellow and red tiling, solid wood units and granite worktops to brighten up your work space. The dining area has seating for up to six people, with a cushioned settee and a study area in the corner of the room. On the first floor you will find three lovely bedrooms: one king-size, one double with an en-suite shower room and a twin. There is a separate family bathroom with a bath and shower over, a perfect spot to relax after a tiring day. There is also a first floor cloakroom and WC and a ground floor shower room and utility room. The bedrooms have a range of modern furniture, including matching bedside tables with reading lamps, and the master bedroom housing a stunning dressing table. Outside has a lovely front and side landscaped garden with a lawn area, a summer house and furniture provided. Off-road parking is available for up to four cars. Lower Great Torr is the perfect property for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. The property is within a 1 mile walk of Wonwell Beach situated on the edge of the Flete Estate and the beautiful unspolit Erme estuary and coastline of this Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty.
Kingston is a pretty, traditional Devon village, well off the beaten track in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just one mile from the River Erme’s beautiful wooded estuary and sandy Wonwell beach, which is dog-friendly all year round. Access to the South West Coastal Path could not be easier for those wishing to explore the many coves and inlets nearby. The village is ideally located just a short drive away from Bigbury-on-Sea and the famous Burgh Island with it’s Art Deco Hotel and Pilchard Inn. Within the village is a traditional pub, the Dolphin Inn, with roaring log fires and a welcoming atmosphere.

The house was great with everything thought of. The only thing I would suggest is that people with allergies to feathers/animals in particular, this might not be the property for you. One of our group really struggled, especially in the sitting room. But if you can go armed with antihistamines it's well worth it!!

The gardens were amazing with lots of little nooks and crannies that our Labrador Penny thoroughly enjoyed. We could relax and unwind knowing the gardens were safe and secure. The cottage was wonderfully maintained and had amazing character. Wonwell beach down the road was magnificent, when the tide was out the walls along the expanse of sand were breathtaking. When the tide was in Penny the dog enjoyed swimming. The beds at Lower Great Torr was exceptionally comfortable and we all had a fantastic nights sleep. Our whole family had a most relaxing time and wouldnât hesitate to book again

The cottage was lovely with the kitchen diner being the favourite place to hang out. The beds were comfortable and the rainfall showers in the ensuite and downstairs shower were a big hit. There was plenty of hot water for the 5 of us to have showers each morning. The house was well equipped with all the tech needed for a restful stay & the WiFi was strong enough for us all to be online if we wished. The digital radio was also a big hit. The garden was lovely and well maintained- our dog loved it and has been sulking since we got home! The owners were easy to reach and really helpful by phone and email for any queries. The walk to Wonwell Beach is well worth it and much easier than driving! The coastal walk was also a hit. The nearby Dolphin pub was a favourite with fabulous food and friendly bar staff. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this property!
