About this property

A stunning eco-sustainable town house with sea views, built for the 2012 OlympicsA stunning eco-sustainable town house with sea views, built for the 2012 Olympics

Jurassica House is part of our Olympic legacy, home to the Swedish sailing team during the sailing events in 2012.  A great location for water sports enthusiasts, walkers, cyclists, rock climbing, bird watching and of course, perfect for simply for relaxing.

Internally, the spacious living areas are completed to a high standard with oak flooring, porcelain tiles and quality modern furnishings throughout. The sizable master bedroom and living room offer beautiful views over Chesil Beach, extending out across the English Channel, The Fleet and Weymouth Bay. Externally, the enclosed private garden is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring and is great for children.

Jurassica House is within walking distance to the cafes, art houses, pubs and general shops of Portland. Also within a short walk is the truly magnificent Chesil Beach – an 18 mile long shingle beach of National Heritage importance. The new international Marina is a five minute walk from the house and diving trips operate from here. Kite-surfing, sailing and windsurfing are among the water sports available. At the end of the road is Osprey Leisure Centre, offering an indoor swimming pool, gym, squash courts and other leisure activities. The iconic Portland Bill lighthouse is a nearby visitors’ attraction.

The traditional Georgian seaside town of Weymouth can be reached within a 15 minute drive. The glorious stretch of golden sandy beach is complete with traditional Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides in the summer.

Weymouth offers an abundance of high street shops, with a large department store alongside small independent shops, boutiques and restaurants. Brimming with attractions for family fun, visit the Sea Life Park and Marine Sanctuary or take in a show at the Pavilion Theatre.

...needed was provided. The house is beautiful and a very quirky layout. Our 19 year old enjoyed occupying the top floor as it felt like has had his own place. The outside patio was a welcome place to relax after a days fossil hunting ! Jurassica house is an ideal Base to explore the Dorset coast and further afield. Within easy reach of the beaches of the Jurassic Coast; Chesil beach 2 mins walk from the house. Stonehenge, Haynes Motor Museum, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum all within an hours drive. Portland itself has a fabulous D-Day museum, WW2 coastal defence battery and of course Portland Bill lighthouse - all worth a visit. Submitted by Lesley on 10/07/2017
