About this property

A charming detached farmhouse situated in the pretty village of Bowes, a working farm in the delightful countryside, with far-stretching countryside views. With its long history dating back to the Romans, this cottage is perfect for travellers, or even families wishing to uncover the hidden gems of an inspiring destination. Inside, discover the cosy lounge featuring a collection of sofas to sit around a woodburning stove; or the homely snug, a lovely place to gather. The neatly equipped farmhouse style kitchen provides the essentials you need to go about your day, and a dining table is tucked into the corner of the room, for those early morning refreshments. Follow the sense of tradition to the three bedrooms, all are thoughtfully decorated and oozing with charm, one even features its very own sleigh bed. From the neutral colour scheme to the relaxing scenery, you will look forward to returning home and settling down amidst it all. The cottage also benefits from a bathroom, and a separate cloakroom which is located on the ground floor. The village boasts a traditional old pub should you wish to adventure out into the charm, and nearby is the market town of Barnard Castle, whose medieval ruins still tower over the river. The town itself boasts cobbled streets, yards and back lanes that were originally laid in the 12th Century, and within easy reach are the Bowes Museum, Pennine, Teesdale Ways, the River Tees and the calming waterfalls at High Force. Low Broats is a comfortable place to begin your Durham getaway.
