About this property

This outstanding property is surrounded by the most impressive countryside views just outside the village of Eggleston, six miles from Barnard Castle. With spacious rooms, high quality fixtures and fittings and an external leisure suite, this detached holiday home is ideal for a family or a group of friends looking to discover Teesdale or celebrate a special occasion. The main open plan living area is modern yet homely with high ceilings and feature beams. There is a well-equipped kitchen area, a breakfast bar and a more formal dining area where evening meals can be enjoyed. A comfortable sitting area is set around a woodburning stove and there are high arched windows looking out over the farmland and patio doors which allow you to take meals outside to be enjoyed alfresco. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, both of which have an en-suite wet room, and with wider doors these are perfect for those with limited mobility. The central staircase then takes you up to the first floor where you will find three more bedrooms, each enjoying the breathtaking views, and a second sitting room which is ideal for relaxing in the evening with one of your favourite films or a good book. The second floor has two final bedrooms with sloped ceilings and Velux windows which look out to the hills beyond, a delightful scene to wake up to. Outside there is a lawned garden and a paved patio with a large stone sitting and dining area. There is also the spectacular bonus of an external leisure suite which has a hot tub, sauna and a yoga and pilates studio. Children and adults alike will be in their element as there is also a games room with a pool table, TV and games console. With all this available at the property you may find you never need to leave as these features are perfect no matter what the weather! If you can drag yourself away, walkers will adore this area as footpaths run in every direction and open up miles of countryside that is waiting to be explored. The village of Eggleston is a fantastic base with one local pub and restaurants in the village, which are just 100 yards away, serving home-cooked food, as well as shops being available within 3 miles. Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle are nearby and have a host of attractions and facilities. With a number of well-known places to visit within easy touring distance, this is a very well-placed property with something for everybody.

Our family all agreed that the house was stunning and clearly maintained to a very high standard. The only very small niggle was each day during our stay David came to visit unnanounced and we felt we were being hurried to leave on checkout day. The hot tub was drained around 9am despite the children still being in the games room playing and us not needing to vacate until 10am. Other than that we can't fault the property and would recommend it to other families for their gatherings.

The owners were friendly, reliable and couldn’t do enough to accommodate. I will definitely be booking and staying again. This allowed me to make my 30th birthday so special and I will cherish the memories forever. Thank you

So well kitted out for every need. Large open plan living / dining / kitchen area with floor to ceiling windows which faced onto a beautiful view of the countryside. Another living room with large TV on the next floor. Separate games room / sauna / hot tub area which went down a treat with us all. The smell of the homemade bread cooking as you walked through downstairs was a real treat along with the biscuits and cake left for us. David called over to see if everything was OK and just to give us a little rundown on various things around the house, a nice touch. The 7 bedrooms were all of a good size, 6 having en-suite bathrooms. There is a lovely large bathroom which is on the same floor as the bedroom without an en-suite. Lovely walks and a great friendly pub just across the road.
