    This ground floor apartment is situated in an idyllic country estate, with plenty of woodland to explore and a lake.
    With amazing lake and mountain views, this fabulous ground floor apartment is within a quintessential English country estate. The estate comprises 37 acres of formal and natural gardens and woodland complete with superb private lake frontage with the use of two rowing boats with lifejackets provided (by arrangement with the owner and at own risk). This holiday home forms part of a magnificent original gentlemen’s residence, built at the turn of the last century and designed in the arts and crafts style. Within the grounds is where you will find many vantage points within the vast acreage, where hidden pathways lead to more and more magic. Nearby Hawkshead is teeming with life, having cobbled streets, excellent eating out spots and country pubs, and the village store is open until 8pm. Nearby Sawrey boasts The Tower Bank Arms, once owned by Beatrix Potter and featured in her books, serving delicious food and real ales. This picturesque retreat proudly stands in this enviable peaceful position and makes for a perfect holiday at any time of the year. Claife Heights is also easily accessible, located behind the property and through the woods.
    4 Broomriggs has a sweeping private drive flanked by woodland and rhododendron dells which leads to ample parking, gaze at that view from the terrace and enter via the side entrance hall which leads to number 4. A private entrance hall leads to the magnificent living/dining room with true picture bay window, commanding the panoramic lake and mountain views. This relaxing space was the original reading room and displays a wall of oak panelling around the fireplace. Also admiring that stunning view is the king size bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment. The neat kitchen is just off the living space and the communal laundry room. There is a twin and single bedroom both with en-suite shower rooms. There is a resident manager who keeps the beautiful grounds in "tip-top" shape. As you wander through the gardens and down the sweeping driveway through rhododendron groves to the private lake frontage, keep your eyes open for wildlife, you might see deer, red squirrels and a wide variety of birds. Pub 0.5 Mile, shops 1 Mile and restaurants 1 Mile.

    "This was our third holiday at Broomriggs stopping in a different apartment each time. It is a lovely location - quiet, tranquil and peaceful - with stunning views. There are a lot of gardens and grounds to explore at the house itself. We particularly love this area of the Lake District and there is good walking on the doorstep and plenty of places to visit nearby - Hill Top, Claife Viewing Station, Wray Castle, Esthwaite, Coniston, Brantwood, Tarn Hows, High Dam, Hawkshead etc. In addition it is not far to Ambleside, Langdale and Grasmere. We enjoyed meals at The Red Lion and Kings Arms in Hawkshead and on past holidays have also enjoyed the delicious food at The Tower Bank Arms."

    "What a treat! The grounds are superb and the property sits high over the water so the views are outstanding. The wardens were warm and welcoming. There are great facilities including local farm deliveries, so it's perfect place for taking it easy.Reading previous reviews I was worried about the kitchen, and yes it is small but functional. I wouldn't cook a Sunday roast in it (there's a great pub called Tower Bank Arms at Near Sawrey for that), but for day to day cooking it's no problem.The rooms were all very comfortable and with 4 adults sharing, having 3 bathrooms was a great help.We enjoyed watching the local wildlife, boating on the water and having a homely place to come back to after our days walking and touristing."

    "What a magical place to stay, the scenery was fantastic, you could go out on the rowing boats for free, putting green to play on, walks around the grounds, Beatrix potters place just over a miles walk away and hawks head the other direction. The couple looking after the grounds and places were just lovely. Sun was shinning every day...What more could one ask for in a holiday. Just loved the place and am booking to go back next year we hope. I can't express how highly this place is recommended to stay enough..."

    "Beautiful location superb grounds expertly kept. Fantaxtic views and great walks right on the doorstep. Only fault was the kitchen which we found too small and there was only three of us not five as should have been. We understand this is going to be changed at the end of the season so will be better next year. Would visit again and will be showing and shareing with friends and family"
