About this property

A modern, homely semi-detached barn conversion located on the grounds of a working riding school and livery yard between the tranquil villages of East Norton and Hallaton in Leicestershire. A simple yet comforting layout, the accommodation provides plenty of room inside and out, along with a view of the unforgettable surrounding Leicester countryside. With the village being home to around 100 people, it is the perfect location for a quiet family break away from the hustle and bustle, with excellent walking, cycling and horse riding. The one-door entry into Stables Cottage takes you straight into the spacious utility/bootroom with Belfast sink and work surface, this is followed by the modernized kitchen diner which flows nicely into the sitting room, boasting a superb view of the surrounding open countryside and the patio garden. Substantially sized WC and bedroom with two single beds complete the downstairs. Heading to the refreshingly decorated upstairs, a large, wooden-floored landing is revealed with yet another astonishing view of the area. Two enormous bedrooms stand upstairs along with a similarly sized bathroom. A car park sits at the front of the house, with room for at least four cars. The back garden presents an enclosed paved area with surrounding gravel, the perfect place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Less than two miles away is the picturesque village of Hallaton. Listed in The Sunday Times ten Best Villages in Britain, Hallaton has two good pubs and a popular tea room. Just a short drive from East Norton is the traditional town of Uppingham, offering multiple days out including galleries, tea rooms and a weekly Friday market. A stunning cottage surrounded by plenty of history and scenery perfect for couples and families. This property can be booked together with Property ID: 993253 to sleep 10.

Uppingham is a picturesque traditional Rutland market town that bares stone buildings offering a range of shops, traditional family retailers, galleries and tea rooms as well as country pubs, a weekly Friday market and an award-winning Heritage Trail which highlights the many historic features of the town. In the centre is the Market Square with the original fountain, where a temporary livestock market has been held every year since 1889.

Home from home. It had absolutely everything we needed. Plenty of room for the six of us, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We needed for nothing! Quiet and peaceful location. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back. We loved it. Thank you so much Alistair and Debi, you've done a fantastic job :) Ray and Jenni

It is attractively decorated, comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The underfloor heating keeps it nice and warm downstairs and it was particularly useful to have a utility room kitted out with towels for muddy paws. Dogs are not allowed upstairs but it is easy to ensure as there is a door to the stairs, which we kept closed at all times. Alistair is friendly and helpful and was always on hand to answer any questions we had. It was a lovely touch to have fresh flowers, a (very tasty) cake and a jug of milk provided to welcome us.
