Didn’t think the house was as clean as many other properties we’ve stayed in. Immediately obvious areas were clean e.g. toilet but light shades, skirting boards, windowsills all needed cleaning

The main reason being the information on the garden as I have two dogs and the pictures show a large courtyard style open plan back garden but it is actually large cheap gravel with a small enclosed large gravel area for the property which you have to leave the house to open the gate to put the dogs in to use. Plus the other property owners which I am guessing own the rented cottage have priority over the garden and moved the bins next to the enclosed area. Also there were several maintenance issues that had to be resolved whilst there. The boiler was set to hot water only and I had to get it going the second day for hot water but when it was cold at night we had no hearing and had to call for help. No light bulb in one bedroom from day one and attention to detail in cleaning is required. Very dusty under beds and down side and cushions of sofas full of crumbs. No cleaning behind furniture such as extension sockets covered in dust. All wooden blinds very dirty. One bed in twin room collapsed when my elderly mother sat on it and the bannister came off the wall when my elderly father used it to get up the steep stairs. All of these things were fixed when I reported it but have never had a lot of issues like these when I have booked with other property agents especially when you contact the owner direct. Plus it would be useful if a pint of milk and tea. Bags were provided for arrival as many other properties provide. The location was amazing but I think before renting out the property should be checked over especially for boiler being ready and most importantly you need to update the photos of the back courtyard as I would not have booked it if it was shown as it is because it was unsuitable for my dogs and created a problem as I could not let them run free or my father sit outside as he normally does. You wouldn't be able to use with young children either. The surface area of large gravel is unsuitable. I have gravel in my own garden but it is small pea gravel which is much more suitable. Photos should reflect the actual situation or your write up should say that the garden area for use is a small area primarily taken up by a large metal table and six chairs that cannot be moved to one side for dogs to use. It is a lovely area but the garden just slightly spoiled the holiday for me with two dogs and two elderly parents.

We enjoyed our stay in Cromer. Carpenters Cottage is very well located for quick access to all amenities and the seafront. It’s tastefully decorated and furnished. Only a small outside space, but a nice little sun trap in the afternoons. Lovely gift basket on arrival.
