Guests say

Home to Roost is a well-received cottage praised for its superb location next to a beautiful beach, secure garden, and spaciousness. Guests enjoyed the proximity to local attractions and the peaceful setting, ideal for beach walks and seeing wildlife. While some guests suggested improvements, the overall experience was positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests found the property clean and well-presented, though a few noted areas for improvement, such as dust and cobwebs. The cleanliness was generally satisfactory, but not without minor issues.

The location is highly praised for its closeness to the beach, with guests enjoying the easy access to seaside walks and the tranquility of the area. The presence of wildlife, such as seals, added to the charm. However, the approach road's condition was a concern for some.

Guests found the property spacious and the garden dog-friendly. However, there were mixed reviews about the comfort of the furniture and beds, with some finding them too soft or uncomfortable.

Facilities were generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, guests mentioned issues with showers, a lack of certain kitchen utensils, and the desire for a tumble dryer. Maintenance issues like plumbing and a leaking washing machine were also noted.

While some guests appreciated the games and secure garden, there were no consistent mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

Beds were comfortable and the location was exceptional. Garden was safe and secure for the dogs. There was no wood or kindling available to purchase at the property, as advertised. Compared to the 3 other places I have stayed through Sykes the accommodation very mediocre and overpriced. Downstairs bathroom smelt of drains, an extra issue as it is straight off the kitchen. Woodwork, skirting boards all dusty, doors and light swiches with fingermarks, cobwebs in corners and behind tvs very dusty. Tv remote in bedroom not working, towels provided old and scratchy. No baking trays for oven and hot water on an emersion heater so you had to remember to put water on. Altogether disappointed with the accommodation and would not have given it a 5* rating.
