Guests say

Springarth Cottage is a charming and cosy property with a rich history, set in the peaceful Cumbrian countryside. Guests appreciate the quiet location, the well-equipped kitchen, and the helpfulness of the owner. While some guests encountered maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns, these were often addressed promptly. The cottage's proximity to local attractions and the Lake District makes it a desirable retreat for those seeking relaxation and scenic beauty.

Cleanliness has been a point of contention among guests, with several noting issues such as unclean kitchen surfaces, debris under furniture, and a general need for a more thorough cleaning. However, some guests found the property to be clean, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility and proximity to the Lake District, Penrith, and other local attractions. Guests enjoy the peacefulness and the scenic beauty of the surrounding area, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday.

The cottage is generally considered comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and adequate room arrangements. Some guests, however, mentioned uncomfortable mattresses and a need for updating, suggesting room for improvement in this category.

Facilities are well-regarded in terms of the kitchen being well-equipped and the property having good amenities. Nonetheless, several guests reported maintenance issues such as leaks, electrical problems, and broken appliances, which detracts from the overall score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate the thoughtfulness of the host, therefore this category cannot be scored. Guests do mention the helpfulness of the owner, but without specific references to thoughtful gestures, the score must remain null.

The bathrooms had nowhere to put toiletries etc The mattresses were uncomfortable , the pillows and duvets need replacing due to stains etc . The owner was a nice man, but I think was to elderly to be on top of it all.

We didn't want for anything and the cottage was so comfortable - especially after long days exploring the area. Steve, the owner, was so welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend Springarth for anyone wanting a base from which to explore the stunning location.
