With a fine selection of friendly pubs and shops in this sought-after destination, this elegant house, built in 2012, will delight all ages. The village is widely photographed for its Balamory-style houses and stunning estuary location. Alnmouth is on the main Heritage coastal route within an aonb with miles of stunning coastline and castles to explore. Alnmouth village is also home to England’s oldest 9-hole links golf course, with Foxton being adjacent with 18-holes. Nearby Alnwick, the ducal town with its majestic castle used in Harry Potter’s Hogworts, enchanting water gardens and cobbled streets, will delight the family. The town has a garden with the largest tree house in Europe. Close by is Warkworth, another popular village with its castle ruins, tea shops and galleries which can be reached on foot, approximately 2 miles. Stunning walks along the coastline on this stretch of the coast and Bamburgh, with its fortress of a castle, should not be missed. Super location for all the North East attractions and only a 10-minute walk or a couple of minutes in a taxi from the mainline station with a good bus service. "Excellent location. Alnmouth was stunning with lovely resturants. Lots to do in surrounding area if you have a car. Possible to walk from station with light luggage. Beautiful bathrooms. Extra set of keys would have been useful as members of the group had 2 stay up to let others in. Careful when parking as not clear in dark to avoid upsetting neighbours. Quiet spot. Steep road up to town so may not suit anyone with poor mobility."

"We had a wonderful holiday. The house was perfect for our needs on our first family holiday with adult children & baby granddaughter.We particularly liked the space & light in the house, the beautiful bathrooms & soft furnishings, & the generous storage. The outside space was not quite of the same standard, although this did not affect our stay to any great degree as the weather was good and we found so much to do in the locality.We appreciated the thoughtful design & features in the house and have no hesitation in recommending it to others."

"We all had a lovely stay at S24455 - it was very comfortable and well equipped except the lack of BBQ, which would have earned a higher rating. It's in a lovely position of the village, everything is within walking distance. The beach and play park were great for our kids. The surrounding area and beaches are beautiful. We will definitely make a return visit."

"Salar’s Rest is a fabulous house. It is very well equipped and beautifully decorated. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so the garden was very welcome. Alnmouth is a great village with some fantastic pubs and restaurants. We would definitely visit again."

"S24455 is located just off the roundabout up from the bridge. A relatively new property it offers pleasant facilities over the 3 floors. The kitchen/dining being a very convivial space to enjoy a meal together. Beds very comfortable. The property is within easy walking distance of the village centre and all its amenities."

"The standard of the house was exceptional. Very well equipped, everything you needed, lovely spacious lounge, great kitchen diner, all the bedrooms were large and the bathrooms were fantastic. There were three generations of the family and we all had plenty of space, enabling us to have privacy. Plenty of hot water, even when all three showers were in use. We lall loved the house, 10 minutes walk to the beach, choice of pubs and a local shop for the extra pint of milk that you always need. A very nice welcome pack was also provided. We all hope to return."

"We had a party of 5 adults and 3 children under 5 and we found this modern house to be comfortable and well located. All arrangements went well, the wifi, TV, and all equipment worked well and we had plenty of room to park our three cars. It is a short walk into Alnmouth (up a steep drive) and so the beach and golf club were nearby. We would certainly stay here again."

"The cottage was spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. I would say that this cottage is one of the best ones we have ever had the pleasure to rent and would definitely book again if we ever visit that area another time. The kitchen was well equipped and you are only minutes away from the pubs and restaurants. The bedrooms are large with ample wardrobe space."

"Spacious, well layed out, light and airy. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and only a five minute walk to the large unspoilt beach. We ate at The Sun Inn, The Hope and Anchor and The Red Lion (twice!) all of which we would recommend and which are two minutes walk away. "S24455 was in an excellent position. The top floor bathroom sink tap was not working when we arrived on the Friday. A plumber attended the following Wednesday to sort it. No note was left to say it would be attended to. The top floor twin room, you could feel all the springs in the mattress and the double room the mattress was flat and hard and the sheet didn't fit the bed and kept coming off. The other double room on first floor the bed wasn't brilliant either. The twin room on first floor the beds were not used so can't comment."

"The above answers would have been better but for a couple of things - the single beds were not very comfortable and the duvets were too heavy. The TV was positioned so that some people got a crick in the neck, the dishwasher wasn't very good at getting things clean so that we had to wash a lot of items again by hand. There was only a name on the details we were given but no name or number on the house so that an important letter was only received because we happened to see the postwoman."
