"Beautiful countryside. The house is perfectly situated to explore a large area. The house has everything you need and is spacious enough to accommodate 2 families. Both sitting areas could do with extra seats so all 8 visitors could sit together comfortably but that was the only negative.A lovely holiday."

"Stayed here as a family for my Dad's 60th birthday. The place is absolutely stunning, from the surroundings, to the house itself were all perfect. I would100% recommend this beautiful cottage for anybody who wants to explore Northumberland and I hope to return again soon."

    "Amazing house in lovely location."

"Fantastic space to bring family and friends together. Made very welcome by owners, staff and local community. Stunning location, beautiful home ."

"Great house for a family gathering!"
    Lesley – 6 Apr 2018
"Fantastic holiday home. Great for all ages, we especially enjoyed the games room and local pub. Great location for exploring the wall, enjoying Corbridge, taking the train to Newcastle and visiting Beamish. Lots of great places for eating. Hope to return!"
    Georgie – 29 Dec 2017
"Had the most fabulous Christmas here! As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted with an extremely generous welcome basket full of goodies, both wood burners were lit, lovely Christmas decorations with huge tree! We all loved staying here and it felt like Christmas in a family home! None of us wanted to leave. Lynne the owner who lives nearby on the farm was welcoming and friendly but at the same time left us to it! We will definitely be recommending this property to friends/family and will go back ourselves. Also the photos don’t do the house justice."
    Kevin – 29 Oct 2017
    "Lovely property inside and out"
    Stephanie – 13 Oct 2017
"Recently visited with a party of 3 adults and 4 children aged 8-14. Heather edge was a wonderful home from home with everything you may need at hand. It was an amazing family space for all to enjoy! Corbridge is a beautiful local village with boutique shops and cafes well worth a visit. The kids also loved the day at Beamish village and museum and a trip to Alnwick Castle is a must for Harry Potter fans. Heathery edge is central to many points of interest and was a wonderfully warm and cosy house to come back to after a day exploring. We definitely plan to return."

"A friendly welcome to a beautiful property in an idyllic location. Ideally located for our stay which included a drive up to Kielder, taking in Hadrian's Wall and stunning scenery. The hosts were very friendly and welcomed us with a couple of bottles of wine. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed."
    Debbie – 11 Sep 2017
"This is our second visit to Heathery Edge and it was just as lovely as last time. Very spacious, well equipped it with everything you need and more. The addition of pool and air hockey tables went down a treat and we enjoyed the wine and chocolates which were a nice touch from the friendly owners. I'm sure we'll be back again. Thank you."

"Had a fantastic holiday at S14582, my only complaint is there needs to be a bit more information regarding the entertainment system and it could also benefit from its own wifi supply"
    Linnea – 14 Jul 2017
"Lovely cottage in a stunning location. A home from home with everything you could need. Suitable to more than one family with plenty of space both indoors and out. Very friendly host couple."
    Mohammed – 16 Apr 2017
"We were very much looking forward to our trip at Heathery Farm. The children were very excited. The property itself in the most part was pretty stunning. Very high quality fixtures and fittings and even the kids got busy cooking on the Aga!Little bit disappointed with the size of the garden which is very small (even though the property is meant to be set in 20 acres); and we were told that that's all we had access to. The children enjoyed watching the horses training in the area adjoining the garden (although not sure the feelings were reciprocated by the people training the horses!)The games room was a few games tables in a garage which had lots of other stuff in there like a treadmill and a few mattresses. Very hard to play in there as quite squashed ... but the kids didn't seem to mind !Apart from the initial hostile reception we received which we are still puzzled about, we loved the property itself and thank you for the milk and chocolates on arrival."

"We stayed at Heathery Edge to attend a wedding weekend locally. Guests would come and go and the atmosphere and high spec of the accommodation was enjoyed and appreciated by all who visited. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and indeed we enjoyed the experience so much that we will certainly be returning for another wonderful family gathering in the autumn. Pam and Hugh."
    Fiona – 6 Mar 2017
"We enjoyed our weekend here at heatherly edge idillic location. However, at the price charged I would have expected everything in working order, not a single clock worked, bathroom lights blown, dirty sock in master bedroom down back of bedside cabinet, no highchairs, strip your own beds. This could be a spectacular holiday venue with just a tiny bit of care. Thanks for our stay"

"WOW!! What a find. Thought it looked fabulous from photos and description but they do not do this property justice. We have been renting "cottages" for 10 years and have had some beauties but this was our favourite so far. We are a family of 8 adults, this property had everything we wanted and more. The property is close to the owners but totally detached so we could be ourselves and make as much noise as we liked without worry and we did get a little excited and carried away in the games room which was fabulous. The spec of the property was top notch, with a really warm beautiful homely feel. The layout was perfect for us, the open kitchen, dining & lounge area was our favourite where we could all be together without being on top of each other. The bedrooms were all fabulous in their own individual ways. The owners came over to introduce themselves and to give us advice about the aga, fires etc. which was very welcome but not at all intrusive. The property is extremely well equipped with everything we could have possibly needed and more! Toiletries, plenty wood for the burners, a 2nd fridge for our 'refreshments' was very welcome, puzzles and games galore. We did not venture out much as the weather wasn't the best and we found plenty to do in the cottage. We did go into Corbridge and enjoyed a lot of very walk down by the river, also the beautiful little shops, we couldn't miss out the pub and had a quick drink, very nice friendly people. Our party all agreed that it was their favourite place and we all hope to return for our next trip. An absolute credit to the owners."

"Wonderfully spacious for our large group. We appreciated the effort the owners had obviously gone to, in decorating the house for the Christmas season. Would stay again. It was expensive for a short New Year break, in comparison with the normal weekly rental charge, but would be better value for a weekly stay."
    Caroline – 28 Dec 2016
"Fabulous house in beautiful countryside. Warm, spacious well equipped. Not far from amenities and quickly into Newcastle. Our 5th visit, which says it all! Only thing it does not have is brilliant wifi."
"Overall the house was amazing, but some small maintenance needs to be done, main bathroom lock, stereo did not work properly, toilet seats and some of the handles needs attention and one dinning room chair also. The crockery in the kitchen was well stocked but again lots of chipped and broken items! The only thing I was disappointed in was not anyone to welcome us to tell us where to find things or how to work things or a welcome pack, like all the other cottages we have visited, a bottle of wine as a welcome is nice, but no milk and no local shops to speak off, plus our shopping did not arrive until late as I could not get an earlier slot so we could have done with a cup of tea or coffee after such a long journey. All in all a lovely place but it would have been truly amazing if the above was addressed."

"This is a beautiful cottage, lovely & tranqil yet not far to go for nice places to eat & quaint shops."
"Amazing property with everything and more that you would need. Felt like a real home, so comfortable and cosy."
    "Loved the property -highly recommend"
"We enjoyed the house very much and it proved perfect for our group of friends. It would have been helpful to have better wifi and we couldn't find an ironing board. These are details."
"What a delightful surprise to arrive at Heathery Edge after a 400 mile journey and find ourselves in the most stunning farmhouse! Absolutely beautiful; gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms, so much room and plenty of games for the children to play with and an amazing kitchen with coffee machine and gorgeous Aga. It felt like real luxury and the most perfect retreat. We loved it and will be back."

"Beautiful house. Would definitely recommend it for a stay. The only issue we had was poor internet connection."
"Wonderful house in beautiful countryside. Clean, very comfortable and well equipped. We have stayed a number of times and it is always fabulous. So much to see and do in the area."
"We stayed at Heathery Edge in November this year and it played a vital part in the weekend of our daughter's wedding. Our daughter was getting married locally and as we live away we required a home from home for her to be married from. Heathery Edge was an excellent choice of accommodation. There is so much room which was so necessary for 7 stressed adults and 1 baby to get ready in. The owners kindly allowed us to have hairdressers, make-up artist and photographer on site and to come and go as we pleased. We were aware of the owners presence on site, if we needed anything, however they kept a low-profile and did not interfere in our weekend. We are very grateful to them and would not hesitate to return. It would be wonderful to holiday with such a spacious, well equipped, peaceful cottage as a base."
"Nice place nice people - though could we please have a new non-stick frying pan!"
"The house was amazing. Lots of space and a superbly equiped kitchen. We had everything we needed for a family of 6.It is in a quiet location so great for relaxing. We did drive to lots of local attractions and we loved the town of Hexham. Ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet. The local roads are very narrow, space for one car with passing points but not too far from the main roads. If you dont want to drive much whilst on holiday then perhaps this isnt the best location as a car is a must to get around.Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend this house to our friends"
"We spent 2 weeks at this property with six children from 5 years to 14 years. The house was excellent and very clean. The only problem we had was with the wi-fi. OK if you wanted to check your emails but not good for all the children with there phones, tablets etc. The owners did help to rectify the situation but not enough signal for multiple users. Beautiful surroundings with a large garden. Very peaceful. Best equipped kitchen in a holiday home we have rented."
"Once again, a restful and luxurious stay. What a house! Perfect for the kids to play outside. Owners were welcoming, helpful and kind. We will be back for certain!"
"We had a fantastic time at the cottage. It surpassed all of our expectations, the kids loved the footy pitch, playhouses and games room. The quality of the accommodation is first class. We are already looking at booking again."
"This was our third visit - the house is absolutely fabulous and very clean and well equipped. Our only moan this visit was the lack of internet connection which did sometimes make planning a little bit more difficult. We are all so used to staying in touch with internet it was frustrating to not be able to do so especially over the New Year period, and especially so with teenagers."
"Wonderful house, especially for large groups, and especially at Christmas time. I gave location a 7, as it was a little difficult for family to find us in the beginning, but to be totally fair, this minor hiccough was outweighed by the peace, quiet and countryside. Beautiful house, extremely well equiped and friendly helpful hosts. Thank you!"
"Very good in all aspects you expect a holiday cottage be."
"Excellent especially the surrounding garden and farm."
"Much enjoyed a very comfortable and well appointed house- attention to detail excellent and everytning was well presented and comfortable- would book again if we were going north."

"A superb holiday cottage which exceeded all expectations. It was spacious and homely, and very well equipped. The Christmas decor was magical. Ideal for a family gathering. So much to see and do in the area. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended. Dec 2012."

"S14582 was an excellent place to stay. It is spacious, private, on the doorstep of interesting walks, villages and cities and is well equipped and of a high standard. Its location was peaceful but had plenty to do for the children who spent hours in the large garden, we did not have time to enjoy the indoor games available. The owners were very friendly and thought of everything. It is the first holiday which really lived up to the particulars and I would highly recommend it and would come back. April 2012. "
