We loved watching all the different birds in the garden. Ideal base for exploring Kielder and surrounding area.

It was bitterly cold which meant we had plenty of dark clear skies to see the millions of stars. We had to buy extra fuel for the stove! We loved the silence as we took walks following the public footpaths. Its vital that you keep your dog on a stretch lead as there are so many sheep, rabbit and we also saw deer. The bedding and towels were so fresh and clean. On arrival there were plenty of goodies which were much appreciated, even something for Ruby .

It is situated in a beautiful unspoilt area of Northumberland close to Kielder Water & Forest and is so peaceful. Amazing variety of birds can be seen daily at the feeders right outside the kitchen window. We chose the cottage because both our dogs hate fireworks and I can report that we never heard or saw a single one! The owner has thought of everything that you could possibly need and the welcome pack is a nice touch. Double bed is probably the best we have ever slept on in a holiday let. Maybe not next year, but we would certainly return in the future. The weather worsened as the week went on but the cottage was warm on arrival and once you've mastered the log burner is really quite cosy.
