The village of West Thirston itself features a shop, pub and restaurant, and is just ten miles from Alnwick, with a Castle and now famous Garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden.
Nearby the propety is the River Coquet which is ideal for paddling. There are also several short walks that you can do directly from the house through some fabulous countryside.
The market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a enormous tree-house, a rose garden and a walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike.
