About this property

This historical luxury grade 2 listed cottage lies in the conservation village of West Thirston, situated in rural Northumberland, with beautiful surroundings and plenty to explore from the doorstep.

Whether you are bringing along the family, or planning a trip away with friends, Chapel Cottage promises a delightful holiday, in easy reach of the coast.

The cottage was built by Alexander Davison, a close friend of Admiral Nelson during the battle of Trafalger.

Take a moment to appreciate the stone-built exterior, before stepping inside to the retreat, following the entrance hallway through to a collection of rooms.

Th kitchen is well presented, hosting a collection of bespoke appliances and Siles-Stone Quartz worktops.

After dishing up those hearty meals, wander into the one-of-a-kind lounge/diner, with its extra sumptuous sofas, wall-mounted TV, and woodburning stove - tucked away into a characterful fireplace.

Shimmering wallpaper, and tied back curtains fill the room with elegance. There are two arched orginal panelled windows to the rear with stunning views over the garden and villiage, as well as the river coquet.

Two bedrooms lie on the next floor, each ensure somewhere comfy to unwind after a long day.

The first is presented as a king-size, and the second a twin.

Next to this is a stunning bathroom with a corner drench shower and double ended roll top freestanding bath, you will look forward to getting ready day after day.

The final bedroom is tucked away into the eaves, and elevated by exposed beams.

Enjoy a good night’s sleep here, or simply embrace some quiet time.

Wandering outside you can make your way to the private enclosed tiered garden, with views over the village and the river Coquet. You can admire the grounds from your own veranda and watch the sun set.

A short walk takes you to the centre of Felton with an amazing artisan bakery, tea shop and an award winning pub/restaurant, Morpeth, rests only six miles away, whilst the coast is about four miles east.

The village of West Thirston itself features a shop, pub and restaurant, and is just ten miles from Alnwick, with a Castle and now famous Garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden.

Nearby the propety is the River Coquet which is ideal for paddling. There are also several short walks that you can do directly from the house through some fabulous countryside.

The market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a enormous tree-house, a rose garden and a walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. Miles of sandy beaches, castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands are not to be missed.
