Splendid Warkworth Cottage sleeping up to 5 guests

Set at the end of a row of houses with open aspects over The Links towards Coquet Island is this deceptively spacious holiday home. Only a hop, skip and a jump to the centre of Amble, the popular town has a great community spirit, and has been dubbed the ‘friendliest port’. There’s a working harbour, a pretty marina and a sandy beach to enjoy just a short walk from this end terraced property.
A popular Sunday market on the harbour provides a great morning out. You’ll find a super little fish restaurant hidden behind the lifeboat house, and an award-winning ice cream parlour. Coquet Island is a designated rspb protected bird sanctuary home to some 30000 puffins, which can be seen on the puffin cruises that depart from Amble. Just two miles away is the picture-perfect village of Warkworth with its hillside castle, pubs, shops and scenic walks along the banks of the river. Young witches and wizards are drawn to Alnwick Castle, which featured in the Harry Potter films. You can also visit the impressive water gardens and the world’s largest treehouse-turned restaurant whilst you’re there.
Characterised by vast golden stretches, pristine bays and rolling sand dunes, it’s little wonder why the coastline north of Amble was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Heritage Coastline offers plenty of cycle and footpaths for outdoorsy types of holidaymakers. Truly, S50005 is a great location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt county with all necessary amenities right on your doorstep.

"we love this house it looks onto a local grass land and is close to the beach and the local town, which is very friendly and welcoming. I hope we will go again next year. The road outside the house in in need of repair. The small front garden could do with weeding. These are minor items which do not interfere with our holiday.Thank you"
Elaine – 27 Oct 2018
"2nd time at this lovely cottage. Everything we needed and more. Overall would have been higher if garden was not full of weeds."
Gillian – 20 Oct 2018

Charlotte – 25 Aug 2018
"A fabulously clean and well equipped cottage. Lots of space and light, very comfortable for our family of 5 (baby in a cot). The owners had thought of everything, and lots of info for local attractions. Location is great for both quick walks to the beach, shops and cafes/restaurants etc; and for visits to the attractions of the area. Would definitely stay again, and recommend it 100%."
Sue – 4 Aug 2018
"Great cottage with everything you need. Would certainly come back."
Neil – 16 Jun 2018
"Lovely, well equipped cottage, close to the harbour and sandy beaches within easy walking distance. When the tide is out the beaches are spectacular and plenty of local walking available. Lovely area of the country that we have not visited previously"
Antony – 9 Jun 2018
"An excellent clean comfortable cottage with everything you need for home comforts, prime location in amble and ideal for exploring the delights of Northumberland"

"Had an amazing time, the cottage is well equiped, clean, very comfortable and welcoming. The location is great for anyone with little legs and four legged friends close to a beach and a big park. We will hopefully be back in the summer"

Anna – 4 Nov 2017
"Lovely house in a good position. It was very warm and comfortable when the weather was very cold..The only criticism is that bleach and cleaning materials were left on the bathroom floors and kitchen cupboard with no attempt to keep them out of reach of young children and many with the nozzles left open.We were there with young children and obviously moved them as soon as we were aware but were surprised at this carelessness."
Jan – 21 Oct 2017
"We had a lovely 2 weeks relaxing at S50005. It's not the first time we have visited Northumberland and we have been to Amble before but not stayed there but I would definitely recommend it, it really is a lovely town and we will be back."
Linda – 9 Sep 2017
"Lovely cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. In a nice quiet location on a private unadapted road which faces onto an open green. It's location in the small town of Amble is fine, but there is a shortage of decent pubs nearby. The Harbour Inn, which rated well on TripAdvisor has closed, and the Old Store House wasn't greatThat said it didn't spoil our holiday as Warkworth is a few minutes drive away with several places to eat and drink"
ANDREW – 26 Aug 2017
"Lovely cottage, tastefully furnished and well equipped BUT very dirty - particularly in the kitchen. Cooker and sink had not been cleaned and crockery and cutlery had been put away dirty. The few items we used were left a great deal cleaner than they were when we arrived! There was a distinct smell of dog when we walked through the front door which was very strong in the lounge. The hoover too, was full of dog hair so intensified this smell when used.Upstairs was cleaner and very spacious with plenty of storage and a comfy king size bed but surfaces did feel grimy (wardrobe shelves, drawers and bathroom cabinet) and felt in need of a deep clean."
Sue – 5 Aug 2017
"Great value cottage this year."
Gillian – 8 Jul 2017
"Good location. Well equipped cottage."
Lisa – 24 Jun 2017
"Fabulous place, house had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Only thing missing was a hairdryer, would be nice to have one if possible.we had a couple of issues, the DVD player wasn't working but this was replaced the day after a conversation with the agents. Lovely helpful people. Location great, thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to be returning in the future. Cocket Island fascinating, good location for visiting other areas. Would recommend to friends. Thank you for a great week. Xxx 😊😊😊"
John – 17 Jun 2017
"Only let down by dog smell from previous occupants"
Jan – 10 Jun 2017
"A lovely well equipped house, one of the best we have had in 20 years of cottages. Dogs loved the walks right from the door and quiet beaches at Alnmouth and Bamburgh. Great to walk into Amble and the Pods. So many places to visit - need another week to explore further."
Rita – 27 May 2017
"Lovely cottage but the surrounding area was very run down. The worst problem was the dog fouling all around the adjacent fields and beach which very few people seemed to clear up. Apart from that we had a brilliant holiday but due to the above problem we would not rebook in Amble."
Alan – 13 May 2017
"well equipped cottage but cleanliness was an issue in the kitchen, we spent a good hour washing dirty cups, the built in recycling bin and cupboard really yucky the only thing we refused to clean is the top of the refrigerator which is disgusting. The back courtyard was terrible hadn't seen a sweeping brush in months and could do with some seating. Either damp or a leak under the sink not sure which but smelled very musty, the living room sofas between the seats full of sand, we cleaned that also. we wouldn't return mainly not for the above issues but because the property has noise issues. shower issues reported to agent by the previous guests not completed and we were not advised that the upstairs shower ran cold after a few minutes."
Chris – 6 May 2017
"Rented this property earlier this year and also in 2016 and found it comfortable and clean. It is located on the links and ideal for dogs. Amble is a nice friendly seaside town with limited amenities but a great location for exploring Northumberland coast. We experienced problems with the two showers that required maintenance during our last visit. We had a positive response from the owners."
Coulson – 15 Apr 2017
"Lovely cottage. Everything we needed was there."
William – 11 Mar 2017
"Lovely house, well equipped and very comfortable."
Shirley – 25 Feb 2017
"We had stayed in Amble before and really liked the area, but S50005 exceeded our expectations. It is very well furnished with everything you could possibly need and in immaculate condition. It was quite cold when we were there in February and the heating is very efficient making the house warm and cosy. It's in a wonderful location and it was amazing to be able to take the dogs for a walk in the sand dunes straight out of the front door. There's a lot to see and do in the area (Cragside and Wallington Hall are both well worth visiting) and I also got a week's membership at the Amble Links leisure club for £15 and made good use of the pool and gym. We will definitely return."
Helen – 3 Jan 2017
"Lovely break - 10am was too early to vacate the premises on the last day but other than that great location and the pictures don't do it justice"
Katharine
"This is a lovely cottage in a great location. Ideal for dog owners. In a very quiet no through road. A short walk across a green in front of the cottage takes you down to the sea. The area is fantastic and we can't wait to return to explore it some more. The people are so friendly, the beaches absolutely fantastic. We visited Druridge Bay Park, just 3 miles from Amble, and loved it so much, we returned every day. The dogs loved the sandy beaches and the various forest walks we did. Everywhere seemed very dog friendly, especially cafes. Just simply a wonderful break..."

"Beautiful cottage. Great location for early morning walks on the beach & ideal base for visiting the area."
Penny
"A lovely comfortable cottage, beautifully decorated, thoughtfully and extremely well equipped."
Claire
"We loved our stay at S50005 and would definitely return. The cottage had everything we needed, it was really clean and tidy and well laid out. It's also just a stone's throw from the coastal path, shops and restaurants in Amble. The furnishings were lovely and we felt comfortable straight away. We could park right outside the front door and see the sea from the master bedroom. It was perfect!"
Helen
"Superbly equipped, very comfortable and in extremely good order!"
