The Lookout is an utterly wonderful house clinging to the side of the Derwent Valley with what must be some of the best views in the Peak District. When you add its immaculate interior with quality decor and furnishings, ultra modern kitchen and bathrooms and fantastic Master bedroom, this is a holiday retreat to remember!!!!
Matlock down in the valley has lots of country town shops, a really good range of restaurants and pubs galore. You might never want to leave the local area but if you stray further afield then how about nearby Matlock Bath with its riverside prom, Carsington Water's wild water sports, a tuppenny ride at Crich's Tramway Museum or just a wander along leafy Cromford Canal in the Derwent Valley World Heritage Corridor.
Peak Rail's steam trains will take you up the valley and in to the Peak District. With these wider horizons you might fancy a trip to magnificent Chatsworth House, romantic Haddon Hall, Bakewell's famous Monday market, Victorian Buxton with its fantastic Opera House or even Bess of Hardwick's lovely Hall. Wherever you wander make sure you are back in time for a glass of wine on the patio while you just marvel at the views.
Cottage Facilities:
A fabulous lounge with picture window views, luxurious leather suite, glowing log burning stove, T.V., DVD, SKY, and Wi-Fi. An amazing, ultra modern kitchen with even better valley views, bespoke units, hob, double oven/grill, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. An attractive dining room adjacent to the kitchen with oak table and chairs. A utility room with a second fridge, washer/dryer and sink. A downstairs cloakroom. A lovely double bedroom with en-suite shower and W.C. Upstairs an amazing and very spacious Master bedroom with king-size bed, roll top bath, separate large shower and adjoining W.C. A twin bedroom with en-suite shower and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of logs for the stove are included. There is a large patio with furniture and incredible views across the Derwent Valley. Parking is on the quiet road just below the cottage. Pets and smoking are not permitted. The house is not suitable for children under 12. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.
Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
