About this property

A quaint three-storey mid-terrace cottage in the town of Buxton in Derbyshire. The flexible sleeping arrangements and with Buxton being surrounded by the Peak District National Park, make this the perfect cottage for a family to come and enjoy this wonderful area. This property comes along a stunning terrace, step up through the front door and enter into the charming, quirky sitting room set with ample comfortable seating, a Smart TV, open fire and many interesting features to give the place some real character. The kitchen diner is rather traditional with rustic flooring, a big wooden dining table and a tremendous AGA range cooker as well as having all of the equipment you could need. The first floor boasts a spacious family bathroom and two calming, cosy bedrooms with plenty of storage in oak fittings, as well as charming views towards the delightful buildings of Buxton. Windsor Terrace also comes with a unique second floor bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and a fresh velux windows offering prime views of the surrounding scenery and town below. To finish the property off there is a delightful little courtyard to the rear with a table and chairs to make the ideal chilling spot on the warmer days. The town of Buxton is ancient and beautiful, it comes nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Buxton has beautiful buildings, gardens and a good range of quaint shops and cafés. The popular Peak District towns of Bakewell and Matlock are within easy reach and are both must-visits while you are so close. Windsor Terrace is a unique cottage in a simply stunning location.

During the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens. There is walking close by with peaks to the north and hills and dales to the south as well as a number of towns dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.

Very close - a few minutes' walk - to the centre, and particularly public transport links. Free street parking, with no problems finding somewhere nearby. A stairgate helpfully kept Phoebe (labrador) away from the temptations of the furniture overnight. Be warned that the staircase is very steep and shallow, so not for some children or the unsteady on their feet. The back yard could do with some TLC but isn't really an amenity. In all, recommended!

Special attention to detail such as baby gates and appliances. Stairs a bit daunting, but we soon got used to them. Lovely neighbours.

Situated on a short high hill up steps with steep narrow staircases. Not for feint hearted or mobility challenged. Locally quiet neighborhood with terraced streets around. Little traffic on the street itself but heavy below at the main road. We left the car parked up mostly and wandered around the town. Shopping easy and varied. Local green area a few minutes walk with doggo next to Wetherspoons pub. Lol. 'I'm taking the dog out'. The house is well equipped and everything seems to work as it needed to. Soft low chairs great for teens slouching but not so easy for me! Really good clean place without a ton of unwanted items. Beds and linen all of fresh and new quality. Upper bedroom has single beds and boys felt they were not as suited for adults being less of a substantial frame. Everyone rested, ate well and enjoyed the time here. Thanks!
