About this property

Aptly named The View, this smart three-storey waterside property is situated along the South West Coast Path in Plymouth, Devon. With glorious views over the river Tamar and its yacht filled harbour, here you’re within easy reach of the best that Plymouth has to offer and a few minutes walk from the historic Royal William Yard (recently named an ‘unmissable attraction’ in the Ultimate United Kingdom Travel list by Lonely Planet), where you'll find a host of upscale restaurants, bars, galleries and shops.

Tucked securely behind a gated entrance of a pretty courtyard, The View has been renovated into a stylish holiday home. Bright and airy with a real holiday atmosphere, yet retaining a welcoming and homely feeling.

On the ground floor, the modern open-plan kitchen/dining area with breakfast nook (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob and electric oven) looks out over the pretty decked garden with table/chairs and BBQ and the harbour beyond. Throw open the glazed doors and let the sun shine in whilst you plan your day ahead.

The spacious first floor living area is spacious with comfy sofas and a formal dining table. The adjoining balcony (table and chairs) is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the ever changing river scene just outside. The garage even has a universal car charging point installed for those with electric cars (further charges may apply).

The View is in a superb location, with a variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance and is popular with walkers, paddle boarders, swimmers and the sailing community. Nearby the pedestrian foot ferry will take you to Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall in under 10 minutes! Regular water taxis run from the adjacent Royal William Yard to the historic Barbican and The National Marine Aquarium.

Just a short drive away is the famous Plymouth Hoe which holds many events throughout the year including the British firework competition and is home to Smeaton’s Tower, The Royal Citadel and the Tinside Lido, an open air swimming pool. Perfect for city breaks or a traditional holiday, with so much to do and see nearby, the whole family is sure to enjoy their stay at The View.

Plymouth is a port city in Devon, England, situated on the south coast, dating back to the Bronze Age. It offers a wide selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets for all of your amenities, whilst the city centre has plenty of attractions such as theatres, leisure centres, the Plymouth Pavilions and National Marine Aquarium.

Very clean and loved the additional extras provided on arrival. Will return. Third bedroom very small, not suitable for 2 adults. Main bathroom would benefit with handrail to aid getting out of shower for those less able Would appreciate tablespoons in kitchen to serve veg etc with.

The only issue we had was with the EV car charger not working with our vehicle but not the end of the world as we found a few charging places around Plymouth to go and top up at and we didn't use our car all that much anyway as a lot of places to walk to and catching the various ferries was a great way to explore the area.

Easy walk to Barbican and option of ferries. Stunning scenery and great for running, swimming, fishing etc. Well-equipped with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome pack for us & the dogs. Hope to be back soon.
