Exton is a village set in the East Midlands county of Rutland. The Fox and Hounds public house overlooks the tree-planted green in the heart of the village. Oakham is the nearest town, boasting a combination of stone and thatched buildings, a range of shops, as well as pubs, bars and eateries to choose from. There is also a local history museum, a 12th century castle and a 14th century church.

Everything was supplied and more. Hope to stay again one day. We had said we would never stay in a Sykes property again after a bad experience in Attleborough this year but this property restored our faith. Being able to use The Barnsdale hotel restaurant and bar was a plus too.

We liked the homely feel of the Wing as well as the generous plot it was set in which made it very private. A welcome pack would be a nice touch which we normally have at propertyâs of this standard. Couldnât find the complimentary tea and coffee which would have been nice after an eight hour trip to save us a trip into Oakham to get some. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would opt for the Wing.
